Meling/Taylor whoever it is, needs to be in the door early next week for this game at Ibrox. You know it will go to deadline day though. Absolute CERT

Forrest has bailed him out big time on Saturday, if that goes to pens we're probably out that tae

You mean the player Lennon brought on for that very reason?

Lennon is clearly gonna get the Leigh Griffiths treatment this season by a section of our fans who will spend most of the season sharpening the knifes, everything good will be ignored and all negatives will be highlighted, I am genuinely concerned that the current atmosphere could negatively effect the season.

I was very complimentary of Celtic up until the shambles last Tuesday, the club have brought this on on their own, the fans didn't want Lennon, he steadied the ship last season and signs were promising first few weeks of this then he goes and reminds us why he got removed from the post first time around

Good article on Meling here - https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/17853796.rosenborg-defender-birger-meling-bring-celtic/

AN absolute no brainer. I reckon we need to get through to the EL groups though and Rosenborg don;t get through to CL for it to happen....................if we are even seriously interested

Aye that's what got us put out against Cluj, the negative atmosphere

posted on 22/8/19

could also argue that he had to bring on forrest because his original tactics had us going into extra time at home against dunfermline.

after saying that johnston was fatigued and then playing him

and then saying afterwards the players were "leggy"

really thought we would see sinclair, bayo, and shved at the weekend, but it was better to play the leggy players instead of course.

when lennon gets it right he will get praised but his recent comments have been shambolic

Lennon knows the club and the fans better than anyone

his comments yesterday were an utter joke, he knows how important these qualifiers are yet comes out with some mad comments about scoring 3 goals and it not being a disaster

he's surprisingly out of touch

posted on 22/8/19

it's like he is trying to convince himself more than anything.

i'd be over it by now if he didn't keep talking schite.

"nah mcgregor at left back didn't effect the game"

it quite clearly did, a monkey could see that.

I didn't want him either, but he's the man and I'm concerned that we're gonna play into the media and Rangers hands by overreacting to every bad result in a 60ish game season, which will only heap pressure on our players.

I say back the man, and kick up sh!t if it all goes wrong, but we need to give this a chance to work, there's worrying signs and there's been positive signs, its too early for the reaction of some that seem more interested in being right than what's best for Celtic.

He's trying to save his own erse, simple as that.

Anyway, 4 games and it's simple for me, qualify for the EL and go into the International break top of the league and he has my support until Xmas.

Lose either of those things and it's squeaky bum time.

Lose both of those things and he better be sacked next Monday, no questions asked, giving us 11 days to get someone else in.

I completely agree that Lennon's reaction was p!ss poor, he seems to be in denial, but i still think the fallout will do mote harm than good.

i'm behind the club, doesnt mean i'm not raging at them for their lack of preperation, i was expecing it in june and was told to "wait and see".

It's hard to back the mananger when he keeps coming out wiht arrogant schite and accepting zero responsinbililty, while tossing players under the bus and praising his master.

he tongues lawwells baws and @rse and thats why he is in the job

This is all his own doing btw, no one heaped this pressure on him for nothing.

He did it himself by being knocked out of the CL qualifiers at home by conceding 4 goals and taking out our best midfielder to play LB then insulting us that it had no bearing on the game.

Then he needed ET to get by Dunfermiline ffs.

The pressure is on him because of HIS decisions!

posted on 22/8/19

I honestly feel like i'm listening to a different Neil Lennon, maybe thats what pressure does, he doesn't want to be the man that fluffed it.

Rodgers had his faults but first thing he did on Sunday after the goal they conceded was say "look, my fault, i asked them to play that way so it's all on me"

That's all Lennon had to do with the McGregor thing, "Look, hold my hands up, it didn't work and it's cost us"

Na, not the fans fault at all, my point is we have the potential to make it worse.

We might make it worse short term SJB but for me it might be nessecary long term, i.e. the rest of the season and next.

I hear what you are saying SJB but perhaps we need to make a lot of noise now, no point in making noise when it is all too late

Aye but considering we're trying for 9 in a row and Rangers look to be flying, can we afford to think long-term?

I'm fully focused on the short term, who knows a bad month or 2 could be all it takes to lose it all.

Does that mean you'd actually like to see Lennon sacked?

Coz as much as i don't think he's the best man for the job, I'd be terrified of appointing a new manager who doesn't really know the players, can we afford to take that risk this season?

==========

i agree SJB, thats why i'm worrying.

different perspectives on this, but both worried about 9
