No mate, he's had maybe three decent seasons from nine..? That's not good enough to be Captain of Celtic under normal circumstances, but the past eight/nine years have been anything but normal.
It was always going to get to this stage with Brown. He was never a technically gifted player but he could put himself about and had lots of energy. Now that his legs are gone, he doesn't offer much.
Brown got a bit of a second wind under Rodgers, but even then Rodgers saw it and started playing McGregor in that role, and we played some great football. The warning signs have been there since Deila's last season that Brown needed to be replaced but as usual we've went with the "wait and see" recruitment policy.

i wouldn't say Rodgers saw it?he found out more due to necessity in that he played Calmac in there because Broony was injured, interestingly it just happened to coincide with our best form of last season as Calmac played the role superbly well but as soon as Broony was fit Rodgers played him again and it was back to the slowed down game..
Lennys comments about building the team around Broony concern me.

The difference last season with mcgregor in there was night and day. Also makes the whole Ntcham, Christie Rogic situation much easier,
He'll play at ibrox though.

He loves that fixture and this is perhaps why he gets the gig to this day,?
i have no doubt Broony will play at Ibrox as we dont really have an alternative? Calmac was brilliant in the deeper role and obviously much more forward thinking and creative than Broony but im not sure he has the battling qualities to his game that Broony has for this fixture?Someone suggested Ajer as a replacement for Broony and i actually think thats a decent shout ?

Advocated that a few months ago on here..didn't go down well.
I'm say something now that is 100% true.
Kris Ajer is the best Central Defender in the country.
He is also the best full back.
And the best defensive midfielder.

I don't buy into this idea Brown's legs or engine are the problem. I'm Scott's age and my engine is fine. He's a professional and I expect his conditioning is better than my own. Lenon is playing tactics where the ball is recycled quicker. Brown was comfortable with Rodgers slower build ups. We have new faces, new tactics. He's still adjusting. He'll come good. Commons slowed us down too but was vital in tricky matches towards the end.
Brown is still good enough to be a squad player, i just wish he wasn't undroppable, certain games he'd still do a job, but I think he's a liability against team who press us quickly.
Thank him for getting shot of TP as well.
