I absolutely am not saying goals were Kepa's fault - he has very leaky defence in front of him at the moment. I am saying De Gea often amazes me when he somehow makes impossible stops, and that must be due I think to his anticipation and being prepared to make instantaneous gambles. He is, or was, supreme at that aspect of goalkeeping art.
Courtois was never really that good just had a better defence than kepa has in front of him.Kepa has made many fantastic reflex saves in his short time here, expected to for that money, Cech has been our best ever keeper without a doubt but kepa will run him close.
Probably behind only Pep Guardiola as the second best Spanish manager

New account, same stupids points, it must be Wahl
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wahl had an @rsehole transplant and the @rsehole rejected him!
My reservations are that he too often gets stranded on his feet - the two goals last weekend for example I would have expected his reactions to take him across to at least get a hand to the ball on both occasions. I know they were close in and very sharp chances, but I felt De Gea would have got across. De Gea is definitely better in that area.

His shot stopping in general leaves a bit to be desired for the world's most expensive keeper. It's definitely a nitpick, and just my impression always being an admirer of shot stoppers, but he doesn't have many spectacular saves in him. He'll keep out the one's you'd expect him too like food and drink, but if the strike is of top quality I expect it to beat him (and 9 times out of 10 it does).
But I do take Nick's point about him having so little protection so it's very harsh to judge that aspect atm. The way Lampard's setup we need a proper sweeper keeper, and in that respect he's decent. Not perfect but will always improve in that department.

Wahl wouldn't have to have so many accounts if people wouldn't be so sensitive.
Kepa’s main weaknesses are his weak hands and coming out to punch/collect the ball from set plays.
Fk you Sideshow I made my own haven.
It seems to have gotten deleted.
In my opinion the jury's still out on Kepa. He's been fairly average and this is underlined by his fairly low saves ratio last season and how few shots the opposition required to score.
What is undoubtedly true is that he will improve and is certainly as good as Courtois was after his first season for us. I have to be honest, I'd have probably saved my money and bought someone like Butland - not that I think he's great but he's a good English keeper.
2nd paragraph was going so well until you suggested that we should have signed calamity Butland instead!
Butland is 🗑
Struggles to claim ball from crosses and ground (see his copious amount of errors in Championship this season particularly), poor judgement coming off his line and feet too slow (especially when he tries to distribute ball, is very weak and inaccurate under pressure).
