If the manager is instructing them to pass it out from the back at every opportunity, regardless of the opposition, then we are just asking for trouble. Unless we have the personnel for it, which we clearly do not.

We need to set up for playing it out from the back but sometimes hit it long

Yeah it’s ridiculous. I get why it’s done. Just don’t know if it’s coaches or players that Insist it’s done no matter what. Yes go for it if a pass is on, if not don’t risk it and play it long. Surely it’s common sense. Yet many teams are getting caught out every week

Stop blaming Xhaka, Guendouzi, Sokratis or whoever. We play this garbage because it is how Emery sets up the team to play. The guy has no grand vision of a coherent identity of Arsenal. That goal is a function of Emery's stupidity as much as Sokratis' limitations as a footballer.

Bar those two goals we have played pretty poor

We really need to win this. The longer we stay with the PL front-runners the more leeway it gives us later in the season to have a mini-collapse that doesn't completely derail our CL bid.

I’m beginning to turn against Emery. I’ve tried to back him for so long, but I just don’t think the players believe in his ideas. And we haven’t improved defensively at all.
