Braga Preview - Off the Bench

Might be tempting to go with what everyone knows is our first 11 after recent performances.

I'm expecting:

Ruddy
Doherty
Bennett
Coady
Boly
Vinagre
Saiss
Moutinho
Gibbs White
Neto
Cutrone

Not my first 11 of choice.
Patricio
Bennett
Coady
Boly
Doc
Jonny
Neves
Moutinho
Dendoncker
Jota
Jimenez

Interesting to note that Boly and Neto both played for Braga previously

Big decision Nuno needs to make is whether the players who have recently been underperforming need a rest or need to play themselves back into form. And also is it time to establish more of a settled team or is that only important in the league games?

On Sunday I would be tempted to go back to the 11 that ended last season. For Thursday I think there are a few players that would benefit from some game time like Ruddy, Doherty, Vallejo, Gibbs White, Cutrone and Neto. Dendoncker, Jota and Jiminez may benefit from a rest. So maybe;

Ruddy
Vallejo, Coady, Boly
Doherty, Saiss, Neves, Moutinho, Jonny
Cutrone, Neto

Maybe MGW instead of Saiss or Moutinho

I know Nuno probably won't go with anything like this and we will end up with the standard 3-5.2, but I'd like to see us go with something more positive and go 3-4-1-2 like in the second half on Saturday. I'd also like us to try and alternative to Coady in the middle of the three, as he looks like he needs a rest given his last two performances.

-----------------Patricio

------Bennett---Vallejo / Donk---Boly

Doherty-------Neves-------Moutinho-------Jonny

-------------------------Jota
-------------Cutrone----------Jimenez

Braga the team with the crazy, cliff face stadium.

posted on 17/9/19

It is an amazing stadium. Probably gives them a home advantage just by being so unusual

What is a 'much win game'?

Big split at the club. Not a happy club any longer, according to captain Coady.

Wolves 1-3 Braga

Feels like we need to have a settled back line again. Doherty should start this one for sure and i think i would go with our best five across across the back though Coady is certainly showing his weaknesses more of late but that said i can't say Vallejo has impressed if he were to replace him and you wouldn't believe he has started games for Real Madrid.

Reading that former Wolves player Silas has been sacked from his first managerial role in charge of Portuguese top flight team Belenenses. 5 games into the season not only had his team not won a game but they hadn’t scored a goal.

Remember him signing for Dave Jones’s Wolves teN and in pre season it looked like we had signed a new star. But sadly it never happened for him. Signed some better Portuguese players since though

Braga have had a terrible start to the season as have Besiktas. Bratislava's league is dreadful. Anything less than comfortable qualification from your group will be embarrassing!

Not quite as embarrassing as never qualifying for Europe though, and currently playing in the lower leagues?

Slovan Bratislava have appealed against the ruling that their Europa League home game against Wolves must be played behind closed doors

Agreed as that doesn't apply to the mighty Albion!

Should be lively at Euston station on Sunday with plenty of fans arriving from the north for games in the capital. Wolves play at Palace, Villa at Arsenal, Ma’am Utd at West Ham and Liverpool at Chelsea. The police have already said they will have a larger than usual presence at Euston

Sorry to say Gem's drive is, once again, proving to be more flaccid than hard, so here comes the first sub.

What shall I say except there's going to be more Portugeezers on the field than you can shake a stick at.

Is it too much to use the phrase "Much Win Game"?

Over to you lot
