An article for all those who still cared for Wenger. Can there be a bigger betrayal?
-------
Yes, the betrayal of some Arsenal fans who treated him with great disrespect and vile abuse.
And the United fans have always treated him well

Most of you held banners against him and hounded him out the club yet it would be him betraying you by taking a job?
Get to fack ffs!
All managers go through abuse eventually. Mourinho the most recent. Even Fergie.
Arsenal were talking of statues and naming stands after him.
You don't do this. And the timing just before a crucial match against Utd. I am sorry but this behaviour reminds me of the Adebayor celebration.

Hope it happens just so we can see Wenger sprint the length of the touchline before the kneeslide finish infront of the Arsenal fans.
Please Ed Woodward let it happen

He didnt manage United to their best spell since the 30s, he was manager of their biggest rivals for titles for the best part of a decade.
Wenger managed other clubs before he took the Arsenal job, and he's more than free to manage other clubs after the club sacked him.
Having said that, it's good to see him with some fire left in him. Especially after his comments about a couple of months back where he said he still needed time off after 44 consecutive years in football.
Their fans would have to update some of the chants they have for him.
J99 is having a feckin mare. Let it go and move on m8.
I have said in the last few weeks the same about your team which is there is no patern of play and pressing.
Ole is tactical inept.
Ole is one of the best managers tactically. It's just our players are in shocking form. Guardiola would look like a shocking manager if they took so many shots to score a goal.

So a man who is out of work, is talking about getting back into work, and it's a betrayal somehow, sort it out OP.
Wenger doesn't owe anyone anything.
OGS was part of us winning 9 away games in a row. Now is part of us when failing to win 9 away games in a row but the constant in all of this is we allow very few chances away from home against us and create more chances than the opposition in most of the 18 away games. They make it sound like we play shocking every game when we outplay the opposition but we are extremely inefficient at both ends. The manager can't do more.
Considering Poch and Emery are supposed to be more experienced managing at big clubs, the fact there teams playing shockingly allowing tons of chances per game and creating very little especially with the better strikers they have shows me OGS is doing a great job.
Honestly think Guardiola would struggle to get us scoring more than 1 goal as it needs us far to many chances to score. It's strange the media are making it sound like this is the worst Man Utd side when in dominance it's one of our best sides.
How is it betrayal? He was sacked by Arsenal and is still unemployed. I hope he ends up at United manager. Only better outcome would be if he went to Spurs. Can think of no fanbase more deserving of dino Wenger than Spurs.
Wenger knows we just need players who can score goals regularly.

Betrayal is coming out with stuff before the Arsenal v Man Utd game knowing how it will play in the fanbase.
"Like I said, Manchester United is a dream job. For any coach. "
So why didn't he quit earlier?
I dunno. Maybe I felt a sense of loyalty to Wenger that others didn't. I never thought Arsenal was just a job to him. A way of earning £200m+ from us.
Thats why it got so bad at the end because it was amazingly difficult to move on from him and he stayed 5 years too long.
Just expected more from him tbh.

I watch quite a bit of BeIN on my travels and I think Wenger has always shown a lot of class when talking about Arsenal despite the way things ended.
The total opposite of Mourinho who never misses an opportunity to have a dig at both Chelsea and United, for booting him out.
Turning down jobs st United, Real and others to stay loyal to Arsenal but talking up a job when he is unemployed is seen as betrayal? Weird.

Exactly.
And if he wasn't hounded out by the majority of our fans, i would half understand this misguided loyalty you think AW should have for us.
The difference is of course Mourinho, others weren't managing for more than 20 years at the same club! However it ended, and it always ends in football, I expected Wenger to have felt differently for us having been here so long. You can see Henry, Vieira, Pires, Wrighty talk different abt Arsenal even when playing for different clubs after us. I didn't feel that way abt Graham when he managed Spurs. Thought Wenger was different!
