We have a poor squad, but Ole is misusing it as well. Why he insists on playing so negatively and playing a system that doesn’t suit our most dangerous attackers is beyond me.

I do a prediction league at work and at the start of the season, I put you down for seventh, which the lowest I’ve ever put a United team! For me, it’s a double whammy this year of you haven’t got good enough players and you haven’t got a good enough coach. As it’s solskjaer though and also due to your recent history with coaches, I think you’ll keep him far longer than you would someone else (which I don’t think is a good thing)

This is why the Ole appointment may be a poor one. Yes he earned his contract based on his form at the beginning but it meant he should also be given time as a result.
The club also have a trigger happy attitude to sacking managers (mainly due to their poor decisions to begin with) but now with it being a United legend the pressure to not sack him soon even if it might be the right decision is greater.
Basically, whether Ole is or isn’t the right choice, the bigger problem is higher up and the club seemingly having no real plan and it shows both on and off the pitch.

melts, 7th is optimistic at this stage.
I think he’ll get until the end of the season at least. We aren’t ruthless, and I suspect if they’re looking to replace him it’ll be with someone that’s already in a job.
Yeah I never thought he did earn his contract. That’s always the danger with caretaker managers, Leicester had similar with Shakespeare. If people only use that as the barometer due to lack of big team management elsewhere, then they need to be given more time in the caretaker role.

Yes so do I unless it goes catastrophic, which I don’t think it will.
Is a draw against Arsenal a bad result all of a sudden? We drew because of a mistake by one of our youngsters, who had a pretty good game. Maguire and Lindelof beginning to form a good partnership. Completely untroubled by one of the best strikers in the league.

I mean more that I get why he earned/got the job and while I was still a little skeptical, was also willing to try it, after the mess we’ve witness over the 6 years before. I know it was a lot to expect him to continue the way he started but he seems to have changed his whole approach to games which is a big concern.
The only positive out of this is that Woodward has left himself with nowhere to turn if Solskjær does eventually go. There surely has to be a point where Woodward has to take responsibility for the mess at this club rather than every manager that get sacked.

They didn't even need to rush the decision, there was no way we'd lose him if we waited until the end of the season.
Depends what people consider catastrophic. But I know what you’re saying. Only way he gets sacked is if we go out the Europa and continue this form in the league.

How long will United fans back Ole. I've seen so many say "we can't keep sacking managers". Well you can if they're not up to it and I just don't see how Ole is. You haven't improved since he came in. Allegri is out there waiting...

Ole may not be the main problem but he’s certainly not the solution. People keep saying things like ‘we at least have a system’ but no one knows what it is. Not one person on here can say they know that Ole has any real idea of what he wants to do out there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s not true. It was quite obvious what he was trying to do tonight, and is so just about every week.
The problem is it’s not a very good plan.

I think for Ole's formation to work it needs a proper centre forward. Mandzukic wouldn't be a bad shout there for now with Martial, Rashford, James battling for the two wide places.

Yeah I completely get why United fans would be happy with it.
The thing with caretaker managers, the first few games, even couple of months, really you’re only seeing them put out a team and a shape. They haven’t had any real time to implement their full ideas yet, especially in the first few games. You don’t really see how they fully approach games and how they set their teams up until at least a couple of months and sometimes a full preseason. I thought the warning signs were there a while ago though.
I do agree that it must be approaching end game for Woodward if this doesn’t work out though and this was probably the necessary next step to show that.

Yep.
Another part of the problem is that Martial, Rashford and Greenwood desperately need an experienced goalscorer with them on the training ground, and Ole can’t be that person all day, every day.

It hurts doesn’t it? Go on mate, let it all out.

You should go for Allegri now whilst he's available. I think he'd be a great fit for United. Wiley old fox and plays good football.
