Great news. With Scotland out of the running for qualification, this provides the perfect opportunity to call up the likes of Shankland and get them injured. Fantastic.

So strong here

Pretty desperate everywhere else. Even GKs look well down on the last couple of decades.

This is my great fear.

Also if he retains his place in the squad he'll miss the QOTS game in November and as you know we're a one man team.

I think that midfield is schite. None of them have done it for Scotland and most of them have had plenty of chances.

McTominay continues to get picked on the basis he plays for United. He scored last night as well which might convince a few but he's still total schite.

That McMullan looks good. Should call him up too.

I still feel his experience at Aberdeen has made teams reluctant to take him.

Plus he 'only scores goals'

posted on 1/10/19

Know very little about Shankland, other than he's been scoring for fun for Utd, but he deserves his chance. Happy to try ANYBODY up top for Scotland these days TBH.

That group of "defenders" though ... just take a long look at that. Bar Robbo, that has got to be THE worst set of defenders ever assembled for a Scotland squad. Guardiola couldn't get results with that lot at the back.

He does seem to score a lot of goals for crappy clubs like Queens Park, Ayr and Dundee Utd. His record at proper clubs like Aberdeen, Dunfermline and St Mirren is abysmal.

Aberdeen, 17 appearances, 0 goals.

St Mirren (16/17), 17 appearances, 0 goals.

I hope he offers good hold up play and assists etc because he doesn't seem to be a goalscorer (at proper clubs)

Great news for Shankland.

His form has been sensational

There been many guys before Shankland written off for 'only scoring goals' - guys like Rhodes.

Does he need to play in a 2 up top?

We played with Pawlett in behind him (oo-er) on Saturday. Neilson doesn't often play two up front.

Worth every penny. When you consider Dundee baulked at £250k under McCann, if we were paying him £5k per week then that's pretty much the transfer fee and a tiny bit more for a year. Worth it to get promoted.

No idea how much he is being paid by the way.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Shankland is on 3 or 4K a week.

Well if he scores goals for crappy clubs maybe he'll score goals for a crappy national team as well.
