Was a great game to watch. Vvd had a poor second half and Gomez was not sharp and they took advantage of it.
Might not be a bad thing moving forward. We've been a clinical machine so far this season but it's felt like a couple of sides have threatened to so that to us, so hopefully this is the scare we need.
Whether it's missing Alisson or we're setting up slightly differently tactically I don't know, but the defence has yet to look as good as last year.
Fair OP. Salzburg deserve credit, it wasn't really that you played poorly second half, they played well. Vice versa first half. Good game for a neutral.

I think ‘poor’ is a bit harsh. He hit the ball out of play unnecessarily at one stage and I think when it comes from him, it’s so shocking that it leaves an imprint on the mind.
Their attack was excellent to be fair. They’ll score goals against all the top teams.

100% - Leicester don’t have the flare up front like Salzburg but they will undoubtedly give us a big test.
Feel like are midfield aren't protecting the defence. Hendo and Gini were poor tracking back, and covering for Trent and Robbo
This time last year we were rock solid at the back but a bit mince going forward. This year the other way around.
Having Alisson back will help a lot I reckon.
Yeah the midfield abandoned their positions for a good ten or fifteen minutes before Klopp had to sub two of them. Don't know what they were playing at. Think it was due to their runners passing and running a lot quicker. The defence seemed too high at times also with some suicidal pressing for a centre back from Gomez throughout the game.
Crazy to think that for most if the game we were outstanding but won it 4-3. Also it lost me what would have been my second bet up in as many days. Chelsea, Brentford to draw, Barcelona and Liverpool minus 1. I'd rather the win however so I'll take it.
There were two problems one was not putting pressure on their midfield and two Gomez was awful
Hope Matip is back for the Leicester game.
Oh and Red Bull are quality going forward and score shiiiiit loads. Halland has 17 in 10 or something daft. Given our away form Id be very happy with a point over there.
I thought they gave us a good game tonight, they counter attacked really well, but we gifted them two at least. If they weren't a good team they wouldn't have finished those chances. This will be a valuable lesson for the squad. My only disappointment was that we didn't see Keita, he should've been brought on earlier in my opinion.
Good team Salzburg. Scored 57 goals in their last 18 games
Our midfield lost all 2nd balls. Looked tired we need to start rotating a little more
Gomez first real game back alongside VVD and it showed. He’s a top defender and will adapt quickly I hope

Yep, Gomez will need to buck his ideas up come Saturday because Vardy will not be so forgiving, especially if he's up for it. I do confidence in Joe and I think he'll be the way to go with Virgil.
Seen quite a lot of Salzburg over the past couple of years. They're a very good side...just below the very top level of teams in Europe. Some good players and a really good coach.
Nobody gets and easy win in Salzburg and they will take points in the group. Any win over them is a good win even for the European champs.
Their 2nd goal which came from a trent foul should have been brought back as they took it quickly and nowhere near the where the foul occurred. Details that can change a game

Last 2 games we been poor but, got the win importantly. In terms of Gomez give him a break the whole team were poor when they came back not just him. We definitely need to rotate the midfield against Leicester on sat i would rest all 3 they wrent great tonight.
Had a feeling Salzburg would give you a good game. They’re a pretty good team.
It is fairly obvious what was wrong.
Our midfielders especially those who got taken off decided it was fine to trot about, not bother to get good positions and indulge themselves in flicks and tricks.
Our forwards started show boating after goal 3. Salah for example, but firmino too. The amount of again back heels and balls where ever doubled and we just gave it away.
Add those two together and the back 4 will be exposed on breaks.
But we must see that Joe gomez played awfully. His positioning was atrocious and he constantly wanted to charge up and ignore his position. He was never inline with his partner. I do not expect to see him play if that's what he thinks is good after sitting waiting for his chance for 3 months.
It's simply a lacks of ethic, charging forward then trying showboaty type rubbish then not getting back while their lads charged at 3 or 4 of our players.
Finally.... at least some players had a clue to start tactical fouling. The stupidity I was watching was obscene.
I swear there was one guy of their who decided he'd just go stand between our split cos and wait for Joe gomez to play it at vvd. He was close to intercepting 5 or 6 times. Crazy to continue that ball.
Our full backs refused point blank to play a safe throw down the line but instead stood square on trying short throws in our own half. Clearly our tactics but at some point a bit of game nous has to apply. Taa threw one in badly, they won it moved cross field. Wijnaldum decided to trot after their player eventually having never got goal side when Robertson had him and left a guy he should have actually picked up.. they get it in for a tap in.
Like let's be honest we stuck on a big man and Adrian started lumping it up. Firmino and origi won loads of ball in the air and we took the sting out of them totally.
It was really just showboating and bad attitude imo.
Drop wijnaldum for Leicester to send a little signal. Get matip back in.
And play the percentages ffs

Agree with you...That's exactly what happend. I'll drop both Henderson and Wij for Keita and Milner. Never seen Henderson so undisciplined before. Never seen him doing flicks and back heels, but last night did it twice. His miss pass lead to their first gial.
