Yes it's a problem we should have begun addressing two years ago but decide to not bring in a single player and sell Dembele later on in January

The problem didn’t exist two years ago so there wasn’t anything to address in that sense. But I agree that we shouldn’t have gone a summer window with no spend.

It was a problem waiting to happen and quite clear to see. Nobody expected it to turn out as bad for it was obvious we needed to invest in some quality to take us over the line or we'd end up falling apart and squad dismantling ala Arsenal. It's now happening. We didn't need hindsight to realise that. The club down the road showed us it was possible and actually inevitable.
