You can keep dreaming, Rob. There's no logical reason for Poch to leave his position at Spurs for an even worse one at United.
bloodred, yep I agree.
In terms of the managerial position I think our best bet might be to look for someone with an idealistic philosophy when it comes to attacking football.
Results may still be shiiiiit, but we need someone committed to coaching this way of playing - none of the previous coaches, nor Ole now, have done this. Especially once the pressure is on and everyone reverts to the negative mindset.
It's the only way we might be able to enjoy football again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a difficult one though, because positive intention can still end up looking negative when you dont have the players to pull it off.
I still believe for example (and I know you disagree) that Van Gaal didnt set us up to be a negative team. Yeah, he changed after that Leicester game but in fairness we were naively gung-ho in those first few matches.
But ultimately, when the opposition sticks 10 behind the ball there is only so much a positive approach is going to do before you start to realise you're just lacking the quality to break them down.
I dunno, it's one I've always been unsure of. Would be genuinely curious to see what Klopp or Pep could get out of this squad after a season with them.
You forget all the games under Van Gaal where we sat deep and didn't allow midfielders or full backs running beyond the forwards. The lack of urgency and restrictive positioning, which saw us create very few chances due to a lack of players in forward positions, was down to his coaching.
I don't doubt that quality of player has an impact on things as well. But having someone committed to an attacking process is something we've not had at the club for a long time.
Teams with worse players than United have played better, more creative, football in the last few years.
We do need better players of course but we also need better tactics as well to get the best out of them.
The whole club needs to improve. It's not just one thing. That's the mess that's been created by the ones entrusted to run it.

How about we hire a new manager every 10-15 games so that we get that new manager lift every time and bypass the drop afterwards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Chelsea way. Got them plenty of trophies
I'm piston broke myself.
It's because the comments are relentless that itsbecoming poor. The board don't read this, maybe twenty or thirty of us do, therefore we all know what each thinks. Saying the same thing day after day is a waste of time writing and reading.
We can't do something new, witty, informatif every day, but surely something better than endless repetition.
It's more than just tactics, there's some real issues with coaching for professional footballers to be so poor on the ball.

We just lost today so it’s only natural that people would be annoyed at the club
Out if we can get someone half decent in , not sure who there is wenger, blanc, god knows, isn't just Ole it's the structure though , we needed a playmaker and a proven striker in the Summer ffs

That reminds me of the video of the United players in training doing their one touch skills. Really poor!

And here is that Rondo training!
What an embarrassing club.

I'm glad I have my sense of humour about it. If I didn't laugh I'd cry!
No one was expecting miracles this season but I did expect proper attacking football.
Playing James as a #9 the other night hasn’t got nearly as much ridicule as it probably should have
Man United memes have been the best thing about the last six years.
😂 I think Cleverson has OD’d
That’ll be a loss to the site.
Is Stretford still on hiatus?
Think he’s either dead or joined some other site where he runs a sideline in Rooney merch and Anderson voodoo dolls

Someone has a selection of voodoo dolls somewhere for the entire squad, management and directors if you ask me.
What is obviously true is that with a more capable manager we would have scored those two penalties, Harry wouldn't have missed the sitter today, we wouldn't have missed the other sitters, it wouldn't have affected team confidence, and we certainly wouldn't have had the injuries.
52, injuries aren’t helping but performances and results aren’t acceptable. We are close to the relegation zone than the European places. We can’t keep making excuses for poor management.
Still here NOBB. 4 articles in 3 hours rejoicing a united loss. What a sad sack of shte you are.
