Worst Post-SAF midfield signing?

I think it has to be Fred.

Fellaini had his uses - aside from helping us to sell wigs in the club shop, he was great for sticking up top when we needed a goal.

I am at a loss with Fred.

Maybe he's just not been able to flourish with the club and the management that he's experienced, but at present I just don't see it. A huge failure as things stand - although you never know if things might turn around and whilst he's getting games, it's still possible. Though unlikely.

4 years left on his contract.

Our only hope is that Shaktar would like him back and still rate him. Looking at a £30-40m hit on a transfer fee.

Most likely is he'll go on loan to Porto next year, then back to Brazil for another loan before being released on a free.

One thing I will give Fred over Schneiderlin: he hasn’t gone missing. He gives the ball away or mis-controls it but he’s still busy and involved. Schneiderlin didn’t seem to want the ball, as if he was scared of the responsibility.

Fred is enroute to being up there with Bebe.

Fred is the worst big money signing I have ever seen. Usually a big money flop will have plenty of talent, just not be able to adapt then move abroad and do well.

Fred looks like a championship player. Wasn't he linked with other big clubs though? What are scouts watching?

He was apparently excellent in Ukraine. I watched a few games and he was running the show for them. Confident on the ball, creating chances and was a goal threat too. Sometimes I see glimpses of it when watching him for you but he just can't stop giving the ball away.

Confidence in ruins. Came into a struggling side, never adapted, didn’t really get a run in the team and now looks beyond saving.

I don't mean for it to be hyperbole but I don't think he would be anything special in that league.

Look at the recent TOTY midfielders:
19: Norwood and Grealish
18: Maddison and Neves
17: Mooy and Shelvey

I’d seen him a couple of times in the CL and watched a load of clips when we were linked and signed him and as I said at the time, the glaring deficiencies in his game we are seeing now were evident to me when he was at Shaktar, too.

He’s awful.

Got to be Fred for me. Fair play to berba too - you did say he wasn't up to the job.

Fellaini doesn't deserve to be considered alongside those other players

Which manager has bought better given their cost and that managers success.

Moyes - Fellaini, Mata.

LVG - Romero, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, ADM, Depay, Martial

Jose - Lindelof, Bailly, Lukaku, Pogba, Fred, Dalot, Ibra, Sanchez,

Ole - Maguire, AWB, James.

Fred without a doubt.

The guy genuinely makes me long for the good old days of Fellaini.

LvG without a doubt.

Shaw and Martial are two of our most important players. Rojo is a handy utility defender. Most fans crow about Romero being best reserve GK in the league.

Depay is showing now what a talent he was.
ADM was quality, just didn't want to be here.

Ibra is the only unqualified success of Jose's signings.

Fellaini's mere presence made other players in the team worse.
