I’ve given up on Pogba ever being right for United. Too lazy, too moody, too inconsistent.

It’s all about Opinions, I argued with my brother for years as I felt Coutinho was a luxury player even at Liverpool and the Barca move in my opinion proved me right.
Don’t get me wrong, a lot of players would struggle to break into Barca, I mean even Cesc who was a far superior player to Coutinho also slightly struggled but still a player who is adaptable and world class always thrive in different environments.

and this is probably where a lot of fans' problems with Pogba lie. They saw the price tag and thought that meant to must be a roy of the rovers type that will single handidly win us big matches.
He's just a very good player when he is a good team and a good player when in an average team. Whether that fits a persons view of being a luxury player is entirely up to them.

I'm not sure he's a luxury player, but he's certainly a player that has to be used a specific way with the right players around him. Just look at the WC, he was great because he had the right players around him which enabled him to flourish, he also seemed to thrive off it and showed some leadership. Without him I think France would be weaker.
The problem at United is that firstly we're a mess, secondly we don't play him in his best role and thirdly we don't have the right set up around him. Yes you can argue whether he's worth the hassle as there are clearly better players around but he can make a difference to your team as long as you get it all right around him.

I said at the time and will say it again, pogba was okay to good in the WC, probably Frances 8th or 9th best player.

Don’t get me wrong, a lot of players would struggle to break into Barca, I mean even Cesc who was a far superior player to Coutinho also slightly struggled but still a player who is adaptable and world class always thrive in different environments.

You were wrong about him at Liverpool, that's for sure. He was excellent defensively as well for us, won the ball back a lot and set us on the attack high up the pitch. Luxury players don't do that. Hence Pogba being labelled one.

Yeah point taken. But so did ozil no? I think it's hard to judge with utd in their current state anyways. It's a luxury in the fact that the rest of your players bore the eyes off your fans . But its not asif you can replace him for a more effective hard working player.
