probably still is a 4231 tbh

It will definitely be 4-2-3-1, which looks better with Pereira in the #10 and Martial leading the line compared to what we were seeing a few weeks ago.

One of the biggest differences against Norwich was that Pereira was allowed to drop in in front of the midfield and play as a central eight rather than having to stick with the front line close to the nine, as Mata had to do early in the season.

The supporting line has been far too high up the pitch all season and it’s made the midfield two’s jobs absolutely impossible. They’ve had absolutely zero help in the transition.

We seem to have moved from what was as good as a 4-2-4 in possession to closer to a 4-2-1-3, with the front line given licence to come deeper for the ball.

And predictably, it has made a massive difference.
