but you can't ignore weaknesses in the team that have been present since before Wenger left.

How can you ignore statistics? I actually said Xhaka, Mustafi, Kols purchases helped get Wenger fired. Emery has not fixed the issues, and in fact continued to play xhaka and made him captain. Thats when I realised Emery doesn't understand why Xhaka was the issue. Emery doesn't understand that tempo of the game is vital to how you move forward as a team. At the moment he is making do with trying to Ceballos there. Ceballos doesn't know how to do it either. We bought Torreira for what he did at Samp and he refuses to play him in his strongest position. Its not all about xhaka you have to understand WHY Xhaka was an issue!

with xhaka 50 games:
goals per game - 1.8
conceded per game - 1.3

without xhaka 23 games:
goals per game - 2.6
conceded per game - 1.1

who plays a game at 3pm on a weeknight

i tell you who, u21 teams, why are arsenal playing at u21 times
