Arsenal’s death warrant signed

Heaven forbid you actually supported a club who got relegated to the Championship or even League One.

You whinge and moan about poor football but you don't know what poor football is, you should be grateful that you support a club who consistently finish in the top six and play European football every season.

Good article mate.

This is not just a Batmoanu thing you echo a lot of thoughts and feeling I share too. In many cases I would say you took the words right out of my mouth as some of it is exactly what I have been saying to friends and family that are Arsenal fans too, they tend to feel the same way.

Our one hope left is that the Board truly don't have a replacement for Emery ready yet and they are sure they don't want to give it to Freddie. Performances and results have been poor for a long time though. (since before the end of last season even) so you would have thought that a competent board would have already had viables options in place...

Let's hope that it's just a case of not having found the right replacement yet, whilst he does need to go as soon as possible it would be bad to then appoint the next manager in a rush and make another bad choice.

Absolute balls buddy. Just because my club hasn’t spent most of its existence in the wilderness doesn’t mean I don’t know that’s exactly where we are heading now.

You're not heading to the Championship, it's just not to the level you've become accustomed to. Look if you were in the bottom three then fair enough, if you were a Spurs fan even then fair enough but you're still 6th and you've had a relatively poor start to the season.

And yes we have spent most of the 40 years I've been supporting Leicester in the wilderness but I've never lost interest, my support for the club has never wained and I'm no more of a fan now than I was when we were in League One. I'm happier of course but my love for the club hasn't changed.

Everything takes time m8. You just can't sack someone without a replacement.

Think back to Wenger. It was obvious when we finished second to Leicester that it was time to move on. Instead the board gave him £120m to spend.

This time they have acknowledged its time to move so the leash is obviously very short.

If the poor form continues then he should be gone by xmas. But if hes scraping points here and there the board will keep him.

Only a few points between 6th and 17th

The board have stated that Emery's remit is to finish in the Champions League positions. Why would they keep him on if he is scraping points here or there?

As an Arsenal fan I get that you have a high expectation and therefore where you are now, in terms of perceived success, must be a strange one.

Always been the club outside of my own I've admired the most and I tend to look for the results. Work colleague next to me is a passionate gooner, he laments similar to you. Sitting in a Leeds based office, he gets little sympathy …..

Stop wallowing and get behind your team

I think the poor start has caught them off guard, as everything was set up for emery to be here until end of the season at least. Shouldn’t have been like that, but that’s what it’s looking like

Also knowing the club I wouldn’t be shocked if they don’t want to sack him because of the cost of letting him and all his staff go, and replacing them all. I know it’s stupid because we could miss out on CL with him, which is highly likely. But the club have done senseless cost cutting before, so wouldn’t surprise me if this was another one.

Think the board will be happy with him so long as he’s in Europa and there’s a chance of CL next season. Doubt we’ll act until we’re miles behind top 4 and or out of Europe

Could be worse I swear some on our board are staying in bed all day listening to celine dion and wallowing in self pity

When?

Could have just said I only like it when we're winning.

When a manager is making poor decisions practically every game, repeating them, not learning, not implementing some sort of workable system after well over a year you don't just stick with them because sacking managers is bad. That would be completely stupid.

Last year we almost did qualify and he was firefighting a lot. This season we have been there or there abouts till the Watford game after which the results have take a real downturn. The board have reacted and been forced to issue a statement.

Sorry but you have to take the lows with the highs. We're more than happy to laugh at Spurs, Utd or Liverpool when they are struggling. Time for you to Man up and take your lumps.

As far as I am concerned, the season is already written off. I don't even enjoy watching our games, it's like self-harming. #EmeryOut

Yes, we should all just sit quietly while the club gets worse and worse.
