"partly revenge for being paid well below their value."

And probably that they've been left with little other choice. Bet you there's been broken promises to them, similar to the broken promises to Poch with regards to transfers.

It's very interesting that the scorn on this thread is heavily weighted towards Rose when, in truth, this outburst is refreshingly honest and a symptom of bigger issues higher up. It's a clear glimpse into an otherwise foggy situation. If this were just Rose you could put it down to a personal situation but it's not. It's Rose, Verts, Toby and Eriksen (probably amongst others) - all hell-bent on running their contracts down to get a better deal elsewhere. It's not just about greed, but partly revenge for being paid well below their value.

The buck stops with Levy. Make no mistake. THIS is why we're failing, and none of it is Poch fault. I can't blame the players for wanting to leave and if I were the manager right now, I wouldn't blame him for moving on.

We will never get anywhere with this chairman. Simple as that.

Well said.

none of it is Poch's fault what an absolute load of bollox... are reckon the team could self manage itself to win more than 6 games in 24...

Levy takes his share, the players take their share, but to suggest that Poch is totally blameless is utterly ridiculous..... to be honest.. the whole contract rebellion thing seemed to start as soon as he said he might leave if we won the CL...

eriksen has set a precedent it seems.. and the others are following in his footsteps... not much Levy can do... if they refuse to sign and refuse to be sold then they are completely within their rights.

however, as they are still picking up their wages, their lack of performances are unacceptable.

as for Poch... he has made too many poor squad and tactical selections to be blameless....

in business, anyone who accepts any kind of verbal "promise" is an absolute mug. you need to get things in writing. this is absolutely basic. verbal contracts do exist but they are hard to prove...

if that is what has happened then the players concerned, and poch, and their agents, are all mugs.

The chairman proposed a challenge to increase Tottenham’s competitive level, but immediately [Luka] Modric left and we didn’t get any of the targets I had identified such as João Moutinho, Willian, Oscar or Leandro Damião,” he told Portuguese television. “These were promises that were not kept. I had a group of players I had not chosen. In two years I lost [Rafael] van der Vaart, Modric, Bale, and all the promises made were unfulfilled.”

Levy for you

yeah.... that doesn't change the fact that the players and their agents would be mugs though....

the whole premise of broken promises is also not based on anything apart from a couple of peoples opinions... or has someone from the club come out and said that promises were broken?

also there is a big difference between promising to do something and intending to do something (which may not come to fruition)

for example, Levy may have let staff know of intentions to review and increase contracts, until the stadium busted by 400mill, and he was unable to do so....

players are well within their rights to run down their contracts, but they need to perform while doing so.. as they pick up their wages...

see hazard at Chelsea or ramsey at arsenal for how it should be done

Well theres a quote from AVB for one suggesting he was dealing with players he didnt identify and a squad with players he didnt ask for

I miss the days, the 80's glory days?, when money wasn't an issue...

The days when a £1million transfer was unthinkable.

The days when players played for the love of the game and their heart was in it to win it.

In other words, money was never on their mind! It was never about how much you were getting paid. Ever!

Think you're going over the top Sizz. It's nice to know about these things. He's been very pro the football side of things, just the men upstairs....and we all know they need a dressing down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
GET HIM OUT.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yup Poch needs to go.

Just more nonsense diverting attention away from how poor the manager is performing. Yet another excuse, it is all Danny Rose's fault now.

Running down contracts is not a thing unique to spurs it seems to be a trend.

Sandy become an absolute parody of himself, literally no longer capable of talking about any issue other than poch.

Absolute embarrassment

A lot of them happening at Spurs at the same times suggests they have been complaining about wages for a while and fed lies.

This is the only way they can get it up Levy and if you were in their shoes you would likely do so to if you felt like you had been had.

He’s been flapping his gums since Walker left, thought he deserved the same, however nobody has come in for him, his performances has dipped and NOW he wants to see out his contract.

I'm glad he's come out and said it, it might help to change a few of our fans' perceptions of what Poch has to work with from players and Levy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i don't think anyone has exhonnerated levy from blame in this utter mess.... but none of this changes the fact that poch has delivered relegation performances and results for almost a year now, with a squad that should be doing much better, whether divided or not
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But you start to see the reasons behind the drop in performances.

This is yet more evidence heaped on Levy that he is part of the problem, but people keep getting on Poch's back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
people been on levys back for a decade... sometimes rightly, sometimes wrongly.... currently people are quite rightly on Poch's back because he isn't delivering results.

posted on 13/11/19

Bottom line is Levy pays Pochettino to deliver results, if he sing delivering, then Levy needs to fire him.

Appreciate this is just one of several player problems, but to be that brazen in public is just not on.
Would simply not play him at any level within the club, ban him from the training ground, not even let him have his complementary player tickets on match days.
Just freeze him out completely.
Oh and buy a replacement in January, which we have to do anyway.

Rose & Eriksen are the biggest cause of the toxic atmosphere surrounding our club.

Who the f*ck does he think he is?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually, Levy is. There's a reason so many key players have left or want to leave.
