Hope it's not a hangover. His issues with drink were brought up at his trial and probably explain some of his less effective performances.
It was not drink that did for me.
So you say Ramdini, the lush of JA606.
I don't think his problem is drink. It is simply a lack or common sense and self-discipline. Try to give him credit for some good performances born out of regret for what happened in his moment of pure folly. He's had two good games since then and hopefully they will continue.
If his ratio of good games has increased since lampostgate, he needs to crash more often.
How are you Derbyshire based folk doing - looks awfy wet!
Thanks Heb. For your concern. It is buddy wet. Very buddy wet indeed. I am recovering from having eaten injudiciously at The BackYard a P-P restaurant of sorts. It was a big mistake. However, better I now am, and I've only missed the downpour. Which can't be so bad and now I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and to enjoying DC's upward trajectory. Then with Rooney (and maybe his mate from DC United), plus the prospects for Sibley and Hector - Ingrams , Buchanan and a few other youngsters I am feeling optimistic about the games to come. One must not forget a chastened and improved Tom Lawrence either.
If the lad does has a drink problem, lets hope he gets the help & support he needs to get through it. There are sometimes underlying problems that lead to drink problems.
Surely he has merely a young man's occasional foolishness problem. (Though if he has a drink problem, he is well worth helping). I think the club is as much (almost) to blame for the disaster. Somebody should have arranged and supervised the use of sober professional, drivers to get ALL the members home safely. Maybe it was the responsibility allocated to the club captain and that's why he's gone.
The club did I believe Ramdini, but Keogh et al decided to stay on and make their own way home.
That is what the club has said Spart
When I was young and foolish I still knew you didn’t drink and drive. If I go for a night out with the staff of my department I don’t expect the hospital Trust I work for to lay on taxis for everybody free of charge. You can’t blame the club. People have to take responsibility for their actions when they are adults.
Now you are old and foolish do you think the same?
I don’t deny being either. Of course I think the same.
I may be wrong here, but the high spirits of highly energised team group who think they are untouchable and immortal - like young motor-bikers - are quite likely to lose their judgement after a few starter drinks, is more likely to make bad judgements than is a group of responsible medics (marginally so, but crucially). I know taxi's were laid on, but not used and it was at that point that Keogh should have intervened and stopped it. I do not know if he was detailed specifically, or just expected. as club captain, to control the session but somebody should have been. None of that condones what was done but those must be the grounds of the gross misconduct claim. And the injury suddenly turns him from a valuable asset to a significant liability.
