Such a funny managerial appointment. Thought Levy was smarter than that, but to make two incredibly stupid and moronic decisions in the space of 12 hours is just mindboggling. Sacking Poch. Stupid but ok fair enough, Levy felt he needed to move on from him. Nothing wrong with that, but then to get Mourinho, the guy that's soured his relationships with all and sundry with his last 3 clubs as his replacement...

Sloppy Seconds is being too polite.

Levy’s whole philosophy is, how can I polish this tuuurd.

Thought Boris was good last night. Genuinely.

Sorry Sizz.

He was awful, Corbyn was far better, and that is without being biased. All Johnson did was waffle on about Brexit and kept babbling on after his time and interrupting the presenter.

The sad thing is that by appointing Mourinho you're sort of doing away with the idea of starting a project, and just getting a quick fix for 2 or 3 seasons. What can you really build for in 2 seasons? Is he going to get us competing for a title in that time? I severely doubt that with where we are. And if we were in the position of challenging for a title, he'd be gone the following season and we'd be back where we are now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Look at Chelsea - their winning mindset grew from Jose's time there. They have quality players and characters that kept this going after Jose but they were elevated to much improved status.

If a quick fix works then what is the harm in it and particularly when we have a really strong core of players who do not need a high risk rebuild with a rookie manager who might waste the next 2 or 3 seasons of their short careers.

Poch has laid the ground work, Levy has contributed with the Stadium and the finances, now we need a finisher to get some silverware through the door....I would have preferred it not to be Jose but someone of this 'oven ready' quality was needed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Different era compared to when he first went to Chelsea. There was no team before then that was throwing big money to try and achieve success and that was as much a reason for their initial success as it was Mourinho. Now you have numerous clubs doing it, so it'll probably be harder for us to get that success, as Poch found out. And frankly this is a Mourinho 15 years on who has shown various signs of wear and tear in the past decade.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

True but he does have an unrelenting desire to win and that's what he hopefully brings that is different and may be at a higher level than Poch.

I think you’re ignoring the fact that his last two jobs have ended in tears. It was completely toxic at Chelsea under his tenure and most of the players hated him by the end and he threw a complete strop at United because he didn’t get what he wanted. He’s a very different character to the young enigmatic fresh faced manager that arrived at Chelsea over 15 years ago.

I’ve no doubt he will win you silverware, but I’ve also no doubt that he will cost you a fortune, isolate certain players, ignore the academy, fall out with Levy and be gone within 2 years. During this time your football will be terrible to watch and you’ll start losing the identity Spurs have worked and built towards over the last 5 years

People need to stop calling him a shrewd chairman. He's a bald fraud who is just as clueless in football matters as some of the thick pundits you get on BT Sport.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh a bald fraud who has delivered us a billion pound stadium, best training facilities in the world, top four finishes, and a club that is run on a very sound footing.

I would hardly call that fraudulent.

You would think that you aging socialist priiick. Corbyn couldn’t even tell the audience if he backed leave or remain. After 3 facking years. He stood there with his wonky glasses on telling the audience with a straight face that a 4 day working week would be great for our economy. And waaankers like you lap it up

And then forget to buy any players for 30 months.

Shrewd as f*ck.

I suppose the one thing he has in common with Jose is that they’re both disloyal liars.

Maybe right.

Tbh I was still fuming from the Poch news and whenever Jezza spoke I stopped listening and posted abusive anti Levy comments. He's not exactly Mr Charisma is he.

Giving him credit for the top 4 finishes ffs!

It would be a bit of a joke if Mourinho is given a war chest to spend when Poch wasn't. And you can only assume Mourinho was given assurances he would be allowed to spend a lot hence him coming. But then maybe he was told porky's by Levy. Wouldn't be the first time he's let a manager down and it won't be the last.
