I don't think it masked it at all. I think it was a big factor in the league form.
Tbf the CL run did Mask poor form nop?
Chelsea winning it in 2012 much the same.
To be fair Spurs could easily gone out in the group stages and to Man City and Ajax.

Yea, the greatest achievement in your club's history! You excelled in the CL at the expense of the PL as we did.
I doubt you would have liked to have come a place or two higher in the league and have got knocked out on the CL last 16.
Yup. That's the way football works. We could've lost those games.
Also in group stages the PSV keeper had to pull off heroics against Inter.

Yup - we're rebuilding. We were told about this. Was prepared to be patient. Apparently Levy wasn't. We've gone back to wanting instant results.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i think if we were looking likely to turn it around he would have had more time. as it was the performances and results suggested that we were heading straight into a relegation scrap.

one things for sure, I'm going to start enjoying press conferences and pre/post match interviews with our manager again!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why?
Levy wants it to be a results business but operates in a way which is the complete opposite of instant. The man is not to be trusted and have broken his word with several managers to date. My thoughts have always been in order of priority:
1) Pochettino and backing to rebuild
2) New manager and backing to rebuild
3) New manager and no backing to rebuild
3) Pochettino and no backing to rebuild
Given how he raised our profile and delivered significant improvement to our club's performances albeit shy of a trophy. While operating with little to no budget and stadium moves amongst other problem not of his doing such as contract renewals. He deserves the opportunity to continue building what he was laying the ground works for.
I'm certain he was promised significant backing once we got into our new stadium but we've seen that go severely over budget and Levy is deflecting blame onto Pochettino.

Yup. What's your point? That there's an element of luck in cup competitions? Cos we know that.
I'm saying that the 'distraction' of being in the CL latter stages coupled with the healthy gap we had in the league over the top 4 rivals meant that, naturally, our focus on the league was lessened.
I wish Pochettino has the cojones to speak out about what it's been like working under Daniel Levy and the difficulties but I feel he's too much of an honourable man to give it all away

Go away! Silly comparison
No at a chance. As with Redknapp, AVB and Sherwood there will be a clause in their severance, legally prohibiting them from talking. In effect, a gagging order.
Mid table 14th place team replaces manager shocker
Some of you need to give your heads a wobble.
We've just had a run of results including draws with the mighty Sheffield United (yes they're going well this season but we've been established in the PL for years. That's a must win game.), a poor Everton side and a poor Watford side.
Let's not forget a 3-0 thrashing from the world renowned Brighton & Hove Albion.
Plus the small matter of not being able to score against the big guns of Colchester.
If Poch didn't have his "undroppable" players then perhaps they might have performed better for fear of losing their place in the team...……...
Give our heads a shake. 362 m spent by Mourinho at United for one champions league placing in 3 years. Yeah he really is the mustard. Complete PR stunt by levy appointing him.
