my old season ticket was in the paxton upper

made me laught when some on here took the piff out the paxton boys

loved having a beer at half time and chatting to blokes who i've known for nearly 40 years

some of the stories you hear from our older faces were brilliant.

loved standing in the paxton in the 80's and looking at the shelf it was a quality sight

I was on the Shelf in 1974 when I saw you knock that Coppers Hat off in the Paxton, when Spurs played Chelsea, Hounslows. Have you apologised yet?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My mate knocked coppers hat off at uefa Cup final when they shut the bars at half time because we were losing and old bill were panicking.. He got 300 quid fine 😂

Westham at home first game of the season on a Tuesday night.. Lost 0-4 and David Cross scored all 4 goals and West ham filled the park lane.. Never seen it so bad after the game.. Well nasty
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i went to that game on my own i was 13 at the time

walked out the paxton when we went 3-0 down and was waiting at a bus stop on the high road when some older lads i knew from hounslow and were west ham asked who i was with.i said i'm on my todd they said they were going to try getting in the paxton and if i wanted a lift home come with them.

went back into the paxton only to see david cross get his 4th goal to make it 4-0.

after the game i was with them walking down the high road with all the west ham fans when it all went mad and tottenham broke thru the old bill and ran west ham.

we ran up some side road and hid in a garden.

what a chit night getting beat 4-0 by west ham and then getting ran by your own fans

Glory days they'll pass you by if you don't reminisce sandy🤣🤣

So true, this is so much better than club politics and what not. Times have changed, some for better, some for worse. It's like a different world today and I always tell my children about how life was different growing up when I was their age.

going to football in them days could be very iffy

train stations were a nightmare if it went off

i went to watch frank bruno fight joe bugner at the lane and me and my mates went to soho first for a drink.

i lost my mates as i didn't realize they had left the pub and got stuck with a little firm of wolves fans all doing poppers that were going to the fight.

i had it on my toes and knew i'd find my mates in tottenham,i went to piccadilly circus to get the tube and there was a mob of about 60 derby fans singing when out of nowhere about 30 pompey fans came on to the platform and battered derby

don't miss them things to be honest

To be honest I am thankful I no longer live in London anymore. You're right, reminiscing can be good, but when you are actually in those situations when we were younger it can come on top. Think we had less fear back then, but that would make us more vulnerable if we were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I can relate to your stories Hounslow because looking back it's a wonder how we made it out of some situations, well, nothing short of miraculous

Agree mate, great to talk about the past. Far to much of the past is air brushed out by supporters just because they didn't happen to see it.
