I've just watched the re-run of City-Chelsea (1-3) of Dec 2016, and Chelsea strolled in and were 1-0 down and could have gone 2-0 down too had De Buyne not hit the crossbar from an empty and 2 yards out.
Yet a magnificent performance by Chelsea druven y Diego Costa, Chelsea stormed back and won the game.
Drama, own goals, great passing, good old fashion center forward work and red cards.
Hope to see that tonight but can't see who in Chelsea provides that kind of passion that Costa used to show or the quality of passes like Fabrgas ones?
Whose board are you on JP ?
Chelsea must save football by letting City win today.
Not optimistic for this match but it's for circumstances largely out of our control. City are the team best equipped to deal with the high press in the PL, but conversely I wouldn't expect Frank to adapt for anyone this early into this team's growth - it's gotta be about our game right now, building that fluidity. It's gunna be a test of endurance & mental strength this.
One thing that'll open up the possibility of something interesting happening is if Mount's not starting (which would be the pragmatic move), but I don't expect it.
3-2 City.
City will start fast. Got to keep it tight in the opening 15-20 mins if we want to get something out of this game.
433 & Mount's on the bench.
Looks like we're gunna let them play from the back with a medium press/Klopp's tactics vs. City. Not stupid at all.
More confident now. Didn't expect that.
Nothing for nothing.... But my money is on you guys and Leicester second?
Thanks again buy the way....... Win today chaps!
See..... Oh and where did you get him? Lol
Fack's sake. Why are Chelsea helping Liverpool?
Chelsea are going to win the league!
Oh FFS.
Jorginho's ran the game, one poor pass leads to a City goal. Huh
Let the scapegoating commence.
"Man City's possession figure of 46.74 today is the lowest recorded by a side managed by Pep Guardiola in any of his 381 top-flight matches in charge."
No mean feat going toe to toe with City and bettering a Pep side in possession....Takes some doing.
Proud of how far we've come and competed in such a short space of time to make it a close match.
Had we won today, that would have been our eighth consecutive away victory in all competitions (first-time in our history).
Going places
Good show from our boys...City that touch better...fair result

All the best for the rest of the season (bar the reverse fixture!) although we only had him for a season, big soft spot for Frank Lampard and wish him all the success on the touch line that he had on the pitch 🍻
