Dont care if Auba goes if we get decent money for him.Overated in my opinion. (Yes I know he won golden boot) Much preter Lacazette to him. Plus means we can give Martinelli more game time.
Needs to concentrate more on being able to hold up the ball or shudder to think actually beat a man.Seems to care more about his hair style than performance.Laca give 100% every game and seems to care a lot more and tackles back. Come to think of it Ill be glad to see him go !

Wtf?!
Get good money for Auba then sell. Very good goal scorer but overal play is dreadful. Can't hold up the ball score from the air or link up play.
Saying that he is very clinical. Would have to be a very good offer

But we knew this about Auba? There've been debates on this page about who to keep between Auba and Laca based on these very points (Auba is purely a goalscorer whereas Laca has better allround play and can score) but the support was very much in Auba's favour. And I recall that as someone who, in those conversations, preferred Laca to stay if one were to be sold.
So why is it suddenly a problem now?
It's very easy to dwell on individual contract renewals and fail to see the forest for the trees.
It's clear that there's currently yet another coordinated move by our senior players to either run their contracts down, or pull a collective "Ozil" and extort massive wage hikes.
I can't remember any senior players extending their contracts since Iwobi and Xhaka put pen to paper in the summer of 2018.
It's clear that we're heading into yet another contract crisis as players gang up yet again to
^^ .......... to take advantage of managerial uncertainty at the club.
Auba gave his reasons. Which are not what you're suggesting. So I would posit you've got it wrong and it's not about "extorting massive wages". The club made a promise, it doesn't look like it'll be met, he is practically on the wrong side of 30 meaning this is his last opportunity to compete in / win the biggest competition in club football so he's holding off committing.
I do agree that we're heading for a contract crisis with Lacazette being in the same boat. But to suggest what you're suggesting is, in my opinion, nonsense.

As I said, it's much too easy to dwell on details and miss out on a pattern.
But one thing still remains. The only players who have extended their contracts in the past 15 months are the likes of Nelson,TJJ, Willock, Iwobi and ESR. You can also throw Monreal in there, but that was more of a strategic extension.
To those who want Auba to be sold and get good money for him. Do you trust the current regime to get the right replacement?
Have the signing we made the past 18 months really made you have faith in them? Denis Suarez? Ceballos? Luiz? Pepe?
And even if the could identify the right replacement, after 3 years in Europa, which decent striker would want to join us?

The players who you've listed as having extended are, in the main, young and still developing.
Ramsey would have extended but the club screwed him over. Auba hasn't said he isn't signing but it's up to the club to match the ambition that was promised for him to end his career on a high. So, again, the club. Kos left because he was mismanaged by the club. Again, the club. Monreal was sold because the club (again) made a strategic decision to keep Kolasinac instead of him.
I'm sure we can look at a few more players (some of that detail you say we shouldn't dwell on) but based on the ones that have been mentioned, I'm not sure I'm seeing this cunning plan you're making out that there is.

We've gone a season and a half without any senior player renewing. With no signs of any of them doing so in the near future.
It doesn't get more stark than that.
1. Depends on when their contracts are up for renewal.
2. Why do they have to renew every year?

That's just it. Contract renewals are a continuous process that, under normal circumstances, would naturally be staggered over a period of time depending on individual players and agents.
No normal club would go 2 seasons straight without renewing a single senior contract.

Here, let me help you:
https://www.spotrac.com/epl/arsenal-f.c/contracts/
The only players with contracts expiring in the next 2 years are either loans or short term fixes like Ceballos or Luiz, or players who haven't been performing and aren't really doing a lot to earn themselves a new contract, like Mustafi, Ozil, Miki and Sokratis. Are you desperate for the club to sign any of them up to long terms deals?? Nah, didn't think so.
Then moving on to 2022 we have the likes of Auba and Laca... which the club are clearly trying to make progress on currently, hence why this news story exists and we are having this conversation.
Auba is a strange one. Fantastic goalscorer for sure but his overall contribution is abysmal. No fight, cant hold the ball up and for a player of his reputation, rarely beats a man. Once his pace fades, he will regress quickly. If we can get 60 mill plus, I'd sell him. Focus on Laca, get Pepe firing and find a player who can play on the left of that 3 (Martinelli does his best work in the center). If someone said sell Auba and guaranteed to get Upamencano, I'd sell him ASAP.
But by your own admission, the club is looking to extend Auba. So it's not like we have to wait until 2022. Obviously this is dependent on whether he signs which is dependent on the club...
I'm ambivalent about him staying. As I said above, from the previous conversation, I'd prefer to keep Laca out of the two. But what's to say Laca won't follow suit. Again, down to where the club goes, which is ultimately down to the higher ups at the club.
