Specific examples are not proof of anything, but the average goals scored is, and shows anyone making out that Messi and Ronaldo’s goalscoring history is down to weak defending in Spain is talking out of their rear end.

I'm not saying Hazard is proof of anything. I used a number of examples, but also pointed out teh Premier League average more goals scored per season than La Liga. I put everything in context. The notion that Messi's record is a function of poor La Liga defenses in absolute horsesheite. Considering how many times he's destroyed the PL's best teams, you'd think that narrative would have been discarded in the bin where it belongs, but the delusional nonsense still comes up.

The vote obviously swung for van Dijk a bit after the FIFA award went to Messi but even before the FIFA award I always found it weird why the media felt van Dijk was the clear favourite.

Its like the media doesnt take into account the voting setup for both awards. for the FIFA award, messi won the coaches and captains vote, then where he really trumped van Dijk was the fans vote. van Dijk won the journos vote which then made him a slight favourite for Balon d'or

But the thing nobody seemed to factor in was that Liverpool had 4 players in the top 10 up for the award which would result in split votes aswell.

For the fackwit Liverpool fans here, Barcelona did not lose to Liverpool because of Messi. He was comfortably the best player over the 2 legs of the tie. They lost because loads of their players were sheite (their midfield was pretty much non-existent for much of the 2nd leg) and their manager was an incompetent feckwit (can't believe he's still there). I see a few idiots are even trying to rewrite history about the 1st leg where he ran Liverpool ragged, scored 2 (including a goal-of-the-season beauty which apparently was a fluke because it grazed somebody) and put chances on a plate for teammates that couldn't finish.

So much drivel here that reminds you of why you've never wanted Liverpool to win anything even when they were sheite. Cos far too many of their fans are cringey, deluded caants.
