They were the most expensive at the time, of course they were overtaken, as will be the new record holders.
Plus Sterling always gets a bad press from Liverpool fans, which I understand. But I think he is trying to do his best on the racism issue. He's not a politician, just an ordinary bloke who plays football, and gets angry when abused, and when asked for comments says things that sometimes he wished he hadn't or put differently.

He's making a dishonest point. Liverpool sold players to fund purchases, you can't have a go for spending and I think he knows but doesn't care.
Honestly don’t understand how any City fan can give it the big un on here.
Tin pot club, a stadium named after an airline (which you can barely fill) and 90% of your songs are anti-Liverpool rather than pro-City. Couldn’t even be bothered to change the tune of the song . The behaviour of the City fans in that corner of the stadium was utterly reprehensible, never been so pleased to see United remind them who the big guns are.

He's right though Boris, it's kind of hilarious how outraged some were about the bus.
City have handled this well though with the lad being arrested today, stuff being thrown is bad but the fans early annoyed with being outplayed on the pitch and in the dugout
Manchester Police were right on it unlike their Merseyside counterparts who couldn't/wouldn't charge anyone for causing £10k of damage to our bus.
Is it as easy to find an individual among 1000s in a crowd and then prove it was them who threw a bottle, compared to identifying a lad who did what he did on live TV?
Why isn't he as outraged about this as he was about the bus?
