Kompany all day long. His leadership at the back was one of the main reasons City won the last 2 league titles.

Oh and Barry, you're just boring now.

Is kompany even the best CB to play this decade?

Thank you for suggesting that I wasn't before

so player of the "decade"

needs to surely be minimum of 5 years played of the decade no?

To even be mentioning utd players is ridiculous, bordering on derision at that point.

No. He was crap for a fair few years too before last season

Rooney in the last decade:

PL titles: 2
FA Cup: 1
Carling Cup: 2
Europa League: 1
English Super Cup: 2

Gerrard in that time:

Carling Cup: 1

Suarez in that time:

Carling Cup: 1

Liverpool players should not be mentioned in this debate.

I hate these debates, they are pointless. You could name a United player, but then have to remember how good they were under Fergie and how good they were post Fergie - was it actually just Fergie magic.

City - Aguero is great, but he has had outstanding supply his entire time in the Prem whereas Hazard has at time’s done things by himself

Hazard - the seasons he was on it he was great, but when he stropped Chelsea struggled - 10th one year.

Gerrard - almost ditto to Hazard, except he didn’t strop he just had years where he couldn’t do it - 8th, losing 6-1 to Stoke

You can pick holes in them all, Fergie is the best Prem manager ever, everything else is debatable to the point where you will forever be arguing.

People still thinking hazard stropped for a season

Tbf that’s a very American way of looking at things. It’s best player. Not most successful.

Johnson was being totally biased and clueless.

The man phoning in nominating Lampard made me laugh. Two of his reasons were, he came second in the 2005 ballon d’or and his Mum died

For me, Aguero and Silva stand out for their play and longevity

The market doesn't lie. Pogba and Maguire are the most expensive players of the decade. Therefore the most valuable and best

Not read the comments but depends how you define the best really.

Most talented- Suarez, by quite a distance in my opinion.

Other factors such as longetivity, trophies, consistency. Probably between Aguero, Silva, Hazard.
