i personally hope we start with an away fixture as i'm not back from my little trip on Ops until the 9th August!!! Wouldn't mind my first home game back in God's country being against the Blunts!!
Roll on the season and lets hope my season ticket renewal is worth it!

Greetings fellow JA606's.
Glad to see a lot of the 'old gang' are here. The set-up of this website is very familiar!
'Ey up' Owlstom, Ginger and Imre. I'm sure there are a few others yet lurking around.
OK on to the thread......................
Please, please, please DON'T let the derbies be anytime during the following: -
15 Oct (cousin's wedding in Brum)
22 Oct - 5 Nov (holiday)
Other than that I am not too fussed, but law of averages says that we must be away for the first game.

Don't know about the first derby v blunts, but I wouldn't mind the S6 one being played on Boxing Day
Exeter followed by Brentford to start and I hope we smash em for the embarrassing doubles they did over us.
I'm due to fly out the day after the season starts and I'm due back on 11th February. So sods law says the day after I leave and the day before I get back will the two dates of the derbies Please big fella, don't let it be so.
Up the owls!!!!
I'd personally love to kick the season off with the piggies coming to Hillsborough.
I can almost hear the chorus of "DANNY WILSON'S BARMY ARMY" as the teams come out.
Would be a shame if he's received the inevitable boot by the time they visit.
hopefully we are at home and i wont mind who we play, however if its away i would love it to be chesterfield, obviously will be nice to see their new stadium and be nice to get one over DA
I take it that the crooked spire is still there
What do you bet that the local derbies will be on Sundays at 11 am (not on Sky) or Friday at 5pm (on Sky) and that the long away trips (i.e Exeter) will be on a Tuesday night in the middle of winter.
I'm not really bothered when we play any of 'em - just can't wait for it to start.

It's going to be the best season since in a long while just because I can't renew my season ticket. I find the less I go the better we are. You watch.
I look forward to our games against the dee dar giants...Oh hang on......
What do you mean Spart? We've given you your Cup Final in July
Up the owls!!!!
Oh yeah...another meaningless friendly against woeful, lower division sluggers...
...my heart leaps.
It should leap, when we fill half your ground for you it will set you up for the season and the inevitable swimming against the tide of avoiding relegation.
By the way, how long until you lot turn on your new Messiah? I'll give it until late September.
Up the owls!!!!
Dee dar dollars, welcome...
Don't you predict us to go down every season?
He'll last longer than owd ginge...
Come on Spart, even an eternal optimist like your good self can't be too hopeful for the coming season. I mean, the new bloke in charge turned you down first and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to Greater Sheffield.
Doesn't bode too well does it.
Up the owls!!!!
As a supporter of lower league football, Tom, what's your opinion of our new boss?
I'm led to believe his teams play attractive football...Surely you'd love that as opposed to Meggo's launchball?
Well Spart, I know he's just left a small, down on it's luck town surrounded by much more illustrious neighbours. So that fits some of the bill for you lot then
Up the owls!!!!
Tut tut, Tom, not like you to avoid answering football questions...
Now; as you follow third tier football, could you give us the lowdown on Hill's style of football and the lad we signed from Colchester, David Perkins...Ta.
Our promotion seasons under Charlton, Wilkinson & Atkinson all started with an away fixture.
15 of the last 21 sides promoted in the Championship started away while 16 of the last 21 promoted sides in L1 started away.
Personally, I would prefer to avoid the promoted sides while they are still enthusiastic after promotion.
Let's start at Rochdale!
A football question Spart? I could have sworn you were talking about Barnsley
Up the owls!!!!
Perkins was well known in a shower scene
Oh dear...
I'll have to assume...typical dee dum dar...little or no footy knowledge...
