I don't for a second believe that the Spurs players weren't trying. I honestly believe that they are genuinely just that shiiiite.
I agree, Levy has to back the managers in who they want out and who they want in. I don't know if some players were defying Poch or not but every manager is going to want to get rid of some players so it would be natural if there might be a bit of a relationship breakdown between them.
Reportedly Poch wanted to move a few out of the club and they were kept. People had a go at him for showing too much loyalty to certain players deemed not good enough, by playing them. Perhaps that was just his way of keeping them on his side, afraid that if he hadn't it would create unwanted friction in the dressing room. Really he should never have been put in such a position to have to deal with it and they should have been sold. That one is on Levy.
Didn’t Jose’s players completely turn against him at Chelsea when he called their club doctor a whhore?
Surely players would develop/have a 'told you so' attitude towards a certain manager, and secretly they kinda hope that they lose the game, but i cannot for one second believe that a professional sportsman would deliberately make a mistake/under perform and get alagged off on social media and MOTD all week just to gwt one over a work colleague.

Don't think some of the United players were too fond of him at the end either. This is what I'm hoping he is referring to when he says he wants to learn from his mistakes with us, but we shall see.

I`m in no doubt that some players will subtly stop trying as hard when they want rid of the manager or a change of direction, whether that be consciously or sub consciously, levels of effort can drop, but not so much that it is obvious.
I don`t think this was the case with most of our players though, but it only takes a handful to drop their levels to affect team performances.
The case of Danny Rose however, a player with a massive chip on his shoulder, has been putting in regular shiete performances since his pal got to more than double his wages at £ity, and has continued to make error after error since it was made clear he is no longer wanted.
The first rules of management should be don`t criticize or pissh off your players, and don`t criticize the referees either. Poch criticized Mike Dean after that Burnley farce and thereafter we got next to nothing from any of the refs.

It was obvious with Chelsea in the past, we've seen is just recently with Everton, and I think it affected us too.
Players not giving it all at least partly because they don't like the manager any more.
