He's a confirmed Arsen fan, so it should be us.

Yeah cos that dictates where players end up moving to

Juve want in excess of £40m and we are really looking for squad depth so unlikely we will make a 2nd bid. There are reports we may look to loan him instead

With the way transfer fees are increasing at such a rapid rate, it might not be a bad idea to pay the money. Yeah £40m for a squad player now is a lot but he's another young player for the future too.

With so many players running down their contracts I think its stupid to spend unless you are desperate for the player. Unless you have scouted him for years and are sure he is who you want to build a team around. Why pay £40m for Demiral when you could have Upamecano for less than that in the summer because he would only have a year left on his contract?

Leicester, with Soyuncu already in their back line he would be a great addition to an already good team. They can afford it as they have plenty of the maguire money left over.

We are apparently strapped for cash this Jan due to the heavy spending in the summer

You seriously think Raul used that to lure Arteta away from his cushty job at Citeeeh?

And you think Arteta needed much luring?

We ain’t spending much if at all this window. Expecting 1 loan signing at best

Demiral looks like being very expensive for someone without a lot of first team experience. Might be worth taking a risk, but we will have a 19 year old with a huge reputation but even less experience (and a lot of injuries) than Demiral next season.
Hard to justify spending big on Demiral when we are crying out for a top quality but experienced CB.

Soyuncu came from SC Freiburg and is now being chased by Pep. Training with imo one of the finest defenders on the planet should give anyone enough experience. It’s clearly benefited Turkey, who France could beat.

We should forget about Boateng, unless it is a loan. We don’t need another ageing German sloth of a defender.

Soyuncu had two full seasons in the Bundesliga. Then has a season not getting into Leicesters XI. Now he partners a very experienced, multiple title winning, CB.
Demiral has a handful of games in Turkey, a few in the lower leagues of Portugal and a few in Serie A.
Training with people doesn't give you in match experiences. Who will he be learning from at Arsenal? Saliba? Mustafi? Holding? Luiz?
Wouldn't read too much in marking Giroud out of games either.

If we had an experienced, quality CB to partner him, then fair enough. If he was cheap, fair enough. But breaking the bank for someone so inexperienced when we already have one project is too risky, imo. Just not the right time or the right price for me.

totally agree, which is why I think we would prefer a loan move initially to see how he settles in to life in the PL. Having his international team mate Soyuncu aready at Leicester may go in our favor.
