United fans on here are achieving one thing -
That being to highlight just how far United have fallen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’ve fallen, we’ll rise again.
Can’t ever remember us giving up a title so tamely though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’ve never won the title with the points total we got or Liverpool are on course for though.
Our points total is comparable to plenty of your title defences.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. People are making out that this city side are doing shiiiit, but that’s only in comparison to the ludicrously high standards you’ve set for yourself.
You’re likely still going to amass a larger totals than a good few title winning sides have, its the fact we’ve only dropped 2 points all season and we’re over the half way stage is why you’re so far behind.
2 seasons of relentlessness is incredible, i never thought you’d be able to do it 3 in a row and i don’t expect us to be this good next season. It’s impossible to maintain, i don’t think people are quite understanding what you did and what we’re doing and how absolutely mental it really is tbh
I just say fair play to palace personally. They played their game, thwarted us, took their chances, and scuppered us at the end when we thought we had turned it around.
A classic case of what football can throw up, and a reason why we all love the game.
All this rubbish - one-up-man-ship - on one hand I get it, banter and all that, but on the other it’s just infantile. I don’t mind giving credit where it’s due, but then you get ignorant fools like process who forget the history of the club they support when trying to get one over an opposition fan. And that’s just pathetic and incredibly sad.
When all those villa fans were leaving at 3-0 last weekend, I couldn’t help but think - those people don’t love the game of football, they just love the club they support. Not really interested in watching football, only really interested in watching it when their team win.
And that’s sad to me. The sport comes first, the loyalty to a single club comes as a result of loving the sport itself.
That’s why I have no bones about congratulating Liverpool for what they are doing, even at the expense of the team I support.
Love the sport. Appreciate the achievements, enjoy the successes, lament at the failures. Last on that list, have a bit of fun digging at your rivals.
For so many in here, they seem to take most enjoyment out of digging at rivals. Be all and end all to them.
Which is pretty sad all said and done
I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be a good day when De Bruyne hit the bar ☹️
They were really well organised and put in some great blocks. We really need to tighten up at the back though, Laporte can’t be back soon enough.
Plenty of football left to play though, and plenty of silverware still up to grabs, be good to give David the send off he deserves
Moyes was our manager, that didn’t count. SAF never defended a title so embarrassingly.

Completely agree with that, I’ve said the exact same thing on a couple of comments just this week. It’s not something I can equate to, I support a football team and want them to do well. If they do or don’t really has nothing to do with me. There’s no one-upmanship to be had really.
It’s getting worse too on here.

Yep agreed. It’s why last season i wasn’t really all that gutted. Sure i love to see my team win trophies but I’ve got way more enjoyment out of individual matches than the trophy moments themselves over the years. The 4-3 against you lot a couple seasons back, the 2-1 we lost to you at the Etihad last season which ended up being the difference between the two sides in the title race, the 4-0 against Barca, the 5-3 against Dortmund in the Europa, hell the 5-4 against Norwich in klopps first season have all given me some of my most enjoyable moments in football.
And while everyone else was laughing at us for not winning the league last season i couldn’t help but feel we were just beaten by a side who was a bit better than us, we couldn’t have done any more than we did and it wasn’t enough because you lot were that good.
And all you can do is applaud there and realise the brilliance you’ve witnessed.

I don’t begrudge Liverpool winning it at all, for a lot of them it will feel like it did for us in 2011/12 and the end of a long road, there’s fans of every club that deserve to have that feeling at least once.
It really isn’t the be all and end all though. I’ve enjoyed some seasons far more when we haven’t won a trophy than I have some where we did.

I spend more time on other teams boards than my owns because if all you did was talk to your own teams fans all the time you’re just getting the same opinions. It’s important To view things from other perspectives and think differently at times.
Plus it’s far more interesting, i love football and support Liverpool. But I’m far more interested in discussing football in general than only waxing lyrical about my club, after 5 minutes it gets boring.

“For so many in here, they seem to take most enjoyment out of digging at rivals. Be all and end all to them.“
Completely agree with that, I’ve said the exact same thing on a couple of comments just this week. It’s not something I can equate to, I support a football team and want them to do well. If they do or don’t really has nothing to do with me. There’s no one-upmanship to be had really.
It’s getting worse too on here.

I try and give the correct credit to City and Liverpool- not because I’m a secret lover of you guys but it’s just a waste of time to deny the truth. This City side have had ludicrous standards and the Liverpool side have risen the challenge much as we had to do after Mourinho’s Chelsea upped standards
Circle of life - we’ll be back

Footballs too tribalistic. You can’t applaud a rival at times or else your a closet fan of that club. You can’t go onto another teams board to discuss football or else you’re “camped” on their board.

Yeah, this isn’t Redcafe. Just wanna watch all the football. Lived in a few countries and followed a few clubs when there and doing that kinda makes you see things differently to a local fan who sleeps in full kit and can’t accept that being too tribalistic is counter productive in the real world

Hafi
You’d rather take the 3 points than have the better expected goals stat, are you mental?!

Hafi took the blue pill when Neo offered him the choice (not that blue pill)

The Matrix was one of my favourite films in the 90's.
