----------------------------------------------------------------------
Worst for years.
So fed up of people saying the league is poor. How about it’s more competitive. The likes of Wolves, Leicester, Sheffield United, Southampton, Palace being able to take points off the ‘bigger’ teams. It’s not their fault Arsenal, Tottenham and the Manchesters aren’t playing to their usual standards (kind of).

Doesn’t fit the narrative.
The league table never lies.
We are only winning the league because Man City have lost some games.
Its 38 games FFS!
You end up where you deserve to be, period.

And because Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal & Spurs have collectively turned to into dung
But in the previous seasons it was always a 5-way battle royal to the final day for the title.

Exactly this. Deciding the strength of the league based on the form of 4 clubs is daft. The gap between 5th and 20th is 17 points. The gap between 5th and 1st is 30 points. There’s 15 teams taking points off each other, plus a few from top 4 clubs as well.
Sounds like a strong league to me.

people seemed to have missed the point that City have actually played less top 6 teams and more non top 6 teams and are much worse off in points.
look at thier results
palace home draw (2-2)
wolves away loss red card (2-3)
man utd home loss (1-2) (after midweek game in league)
newcastle away draw (2-2) (after cl game)
liverpool away loss (1-3) (after cl game)
wolves homes loss (0-2) (after cl game)
spurs home draw (2-2)
Its pretty clear to me that they've just not done what they did last year against either the top sides or the lower sides and have conceded too many goals.
Mean time we've ground through CL ties, despite having harder tie, fought through super cup and world club cup fixture congestion, took the league cup debacle of being forced toplay a nothing side away to a prem team on the chin.
We've not missed a beat. We've had the injuries too.
The SCALE of the difference in levels is astonishing.
City are only going to face more of the mid to top half teams and top 6 now than we are as well.
Let’s just go with poor quality league narrative
This is the weakest league ever and Man City have gone from the bestest team in the world to also rans
Man Utd in the poorest league ever can’t even qualify for the Champions Leage
Spurs and Arsenal are so far behind we don’t even bother scrolling down to them <laugh
What these idiots are saying is their teams are rubbish in a rubbish league
If your point is we aren’t as good as we were last season, then yes, that’s absolutely right and entirely our issues. I think some of the reasons for that are (hopefully) temporary, others need a longer term fix.
In the grand scheme of things though, we’re still second, in all the cups and got a game against Real Madrid that I’m really looking forward to. We’ve had plenty of worse seasons!

Beyond the downturn in domestic football standards, luckily for you, it appears that Liverpool becoming European Champions has also coincided with a global downturn in football standards, with Barca and Madrid also being utter 5h1te now. 🙂
Should be a walk in the park for City v Madrid. 😉

Yet to see an actual valid argument on why the league is poor besides people saying I think the league is poor.
What we have done last season and especially this season, and city over the last few seasons is abnormal. That does not equate to a weak league.
These mental gymnastics many are going through are hilarious, yet keep seeing we reds just can't accept it...

Its just that you can clearly see you've just conceded a few more goals and not controlled games as well as you had done.

I agree, I didn’t say we were much worse. It’s all relative too, it is a large drop off to last year, but then we were both so far above then (and you still are) that even with that, it just brings it down to what was considered normal beforehand.
All it shows really is the stupidly high level we were operating at and you are now. I don’t think points always tell the full story either, there’s a lot of fine margins in there too.
