Nobody can complain about the present league table. I cant believe there is 1 fan who not have taken this position had they been offered it in August. There has been great effort and some good football to observe.

Agree with the article and Kebab.

for me, whilst I'm always relatively positive, I just get an awful feeling that the club are not going to learn from the mistakes of last season.

imagine if we didn't strengthen, like last January and we fail again.. imagine the backlash they would have to face.

I've read some silly posts by a lot of fans recently about how Radz is milking the club or how the owners want to stay in the championship.. which just isn't true.. if mistakes are being made its down to nativity rather than malice.. but even they must know we need to strengthen.

Because we have one striker going in the most crucial run of games in the clubs history and after a run of 1 win in 7 and not only have goals dried up, but the defense is shockingly bad.

We can all see where it's going if we don't do something about it and so far, we've signed a 10th choice goalie for the under 23's who will never make a first team appearance.

Hopefully the team turn it around, the league is so weak, any other year we'd have lost 2nd spot already.

I am keeping the faith, Infinite One - how can I not? We are Leeds, after all - but it's no surprise that the recent stumble in form, repeating as it does the pattern from last year, and not only the lack of investment in sorely needed players but also the Board's complete failure to communicate with the fans certainly does test that faith to the max. This stumble is so sickening that I can't even bring myself to log on, let alone contribute anything positive to the discussion.

Harrogate is spot on, unfortunately

Doesn't negate the fact that after last season, we are proving to be mirroring the same outcome. Lets not be obtuse here, that offer of position, needs to be contextualised.

playing poorly
dropped an 11 point lead to likely 2 by bedtime
same transfer behavior as last season
look to be dicking around in the playoffs very soon

"I completely get the fact that we were 11 pts clear of 3rd, we are on a bad run of form, there are no January signings, and it all looks like going the same way as last year."

^^^
It's this. This is the reason that most of us are in a panic.
That and the fact that the teams around us are very likely to be signing decent extra players to their already capable squads whilst we persist with the same skeleton group of decent players supported by the u23s.
We should be aiming to replace some current main team players with better ones in case (heaven forbid) we actually do want to get promoted.

The overall feeling is that we're going to see things like Gayle to Brom. Adams to Brentford etc. etc. Whilst the owners tell us that it's difficult to do business in January and that's why we only bolstered the bench.

I don't think it's "negative thinking" when the same old crap happens to us every year.

2 camps. One is look at the league table stop moaning. One is, look at the league table last year, be worried.

Only a fool wouldn't be happy with the team under bielsa and the current league table. But you can appreciate the work that's gone in, the progress made... AND STILL WORRY the club have learnt nothing. It's the same off the pitch as on it... you have to take your chances. I'm as chuffed as the next guy that we've done so well up to christmas but it counts for nothing if it's not converted. I'm sick of being told to look at the table and be thankful.

Michael Ballacks to that, I want to be grateful in May not January. Of course it's better to be 2nd than 10th but its what we do now that counts. It will be unforgiveable to fck up again for the same reasons.

So let's hope we don't.

Stop looking at snapshot ie second, clear by x amount of points, look at that and the trend.

Very strange days.

I agree and think we are doing just fine. Over the season we have clearly been one of the two best sides in the division.

I would rather be in our position with our squad than Nottingham Forest or West Brom.

I do think our next 5 games will more than likely determine if we go up in the top 2 or not. Need to pull ourselves out of this little rut now. I'm worried but I know we are more than capable and if we can only play somewhere near to our best and take some chances we will go on another unbeaten run

The pattern is so similar to last season we are bound to be worried. Paper thin squad (even more so), players missing through injury/suspension, loan players recalled, players being run into the ground example Klich.
Only one recognised misfiring striker and rumours about adding another one but rumoured targets are all either wanted by other clubs or still needed by existing clubs. Are we going to get another hard luck story a la Dan James, the club tried to get the deal over the line but......
Very worrying times indeed

agree.... snapshots give you an idea of improvement through out the years.. however its not improvement we're after, as such, its success for a change..

I've said for some time it's a continuation of last
season from the inconsistency after that Xmas and
New Year...I do hope I'm wrong and the form picks
up leading to promotion.
There are so many similarities to last season from
great beginnings to players losing form in the 2nd
half of season.

Good runs bad runs, every team goes through them, so, we went with West Brom and got an 11 or so point lead, that was a good run!..

Now for the crap questions, teams are catching us up, so, did we get so far ahead because we had a good run?..

Or was it because those now finding their form had bad runs?..

Yep form plays a lot with outcomes, but consistency plays just as big a part, I don't think these teams that are finding their form now will keep it going till the end of season, and we could just as easy find that form again!..

And the old players being tired bit, I've said it before and I'll say it again, any player that cant play at least 2 games a week shouldn't be earning the money they do, because there are normal working men and women out there working harder for less!..

I know, the old that's why we need fresh is coming!..

Are they really fresh?.....because they'll have/should have been worked just as hard at wherever they come from!..

Good form bad form, its down to the players to find their best!..

NJS.. what do you think the cause of this is?

I think probably the number of games played up until
the Xmas and New Year period, the weight of
expectations, toll of tiredness and injuries on a small
squad...they would recover form eventually with some
fresh players, better than the present players, but the
financial aspect comes into play then, can we afford
a couple of better players?

we have seen this before quite a few times groundhog day haunts us all

posted on 22/1/20

NJS.. totally agree with that 👍... I honestly think the next week or so will be the cause of promotion or not..

Rested up properly using the 10 day game gap as a mental breather.. and proper recovery in terms of physical rest, added with 2 first team players would see us promoted easily, give or take the usual Leeds moments..

Don’t, and we’ll fail in the play offs again

Milky.. did you convince your wife’s friend to take a week off btw?

It’s currently my week off.. enjoyed not carting around cloths and prepping food so far.. but was lying in the bath last night and thought maybe Ill go Thursday.. then remembered my preaching and thought no, keep strong and be lazy till Monday 😂😂..
