I wouldn't be prepared to go back further. Some club owners have only been in place within last 10 years and no manager has been in post longer than 5 except Dyche / Howe (I think)

yeah just feel it would be interesting metro, from a chelsea fan aswell who will probbaly be in the top 3.

Would not mind a net spend total thats up to date from pl starting and trophies won. Would be interesting

This thread made me realise Barca would probably be all over Firmino if we hadn't added in that clause when selling Coutinho

Been a bit of a flop I would say.

Oh for sure, does a Lionel Lallana turn every now and then or completes a pass Hendo makes 5 of a game and they think hes world class. Same as when slab head wins a header or AWB makes a slide tackle.

I used the transferleague data - and painstakingly went through Liverpool's dealings year by year and they were 100% accurate

So assume they all are.

What we can say for certain is that in terms of net spend relative to silverware, Everton are far and away the worst performing club by some distance.

£333.7 M per trophy... just.. wow

Liverpool

absolutely had barcas pants down tbf
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s worse than Pogba in terms of wasting money. 130m for Coutinho
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He had a back ache too.. we shouldve got 150m

Maybe Man U can sell Rashford for that amount.

I think it's a noble argument to be fair.

You're more likely to be successful if you pump hundreds of millions into a football club.

Nothing wrong with pointing that out and there's a sense of pride in achieving success without having to just throw money consistently.

Fans want success but there's perhaps a touch more pride when you're club is self sustaining instead of endless expenditure.

article would be better if they broke the players buys into buckets

20-29
30-39
40-49
49-59
59-69
70-89
90mil+

if everton but 10 players say for 20mil + they could all be tosuns.

If city buy 10 for over 20mil then its 50 and 60 mil types like their extremely expensive full backs.
