Maradona was the best player ever imo but given his descent into cocaine addiction while at Napoli I'd have been very concerned about bringing a young Diego to the bright lights of London and all the temptations on offer.

Erm not quite. Ronaldo has already won a PL medal. Messi has not won a PL medal.
So my point remains. If I could bring back any player, I would bring back Gerrard for this season so he could pick up a PL Winners' medal.
