Eriksen

Same with Berbatov.
Same with Modric.

Not the first and definitely won't be the last.

Levy at fault again. Could have taken £40m for him in the summer and re-invested.

I heard he included in Eriksen's deal with Inter, that any future friendly between the two clubs, Tottenham will take all the proceeds. Seriously

Hope he does well at Inter Milan. A quality player for us during most of his time at the club. Fans shouldn't be howling abuse or anything if he ever returns to WHL. He's been a professional with the transfer to be honest and hasn't gone out to the media moaning or refusing to play.

Just the one friendly, not all of them. So basically an extra £1m or whatever which isn't much but "all gate receipts" makes Levy sounds like a proper negotiator.

How much did you end up getting for him?

I know, hence the "any future friendly between the two clubs"

I think Levy gets alot of unfair criticism on this board but there is no denying that he has made a royal balls up of the Eriksen situation.

He should have been sold 18 months ago when he first refused to sign a new deal and would have been worth a kings ransom.

Crazy to think he’s only 27.

Not sure you can claim a profit given his seven years of wages! Ultimately it’s a poor deal for a top quality player, but a lot of that is down to the player of course.

With only 6 months left on his contract, much better than feck all

Why are some blaming Levy for getting £17m for a player with 6 months on his contract when no one came calling last summer? Personally, I'm gobsmacked, I thought Eriksen would wait but actually, he's done a decent thing and given back a little to the club.
He's gone up in my estimation so I can now feel a bit sad he's going and wish him the best.

I don’t think you can call it profit per se.

In 2020, you’ve recouped essentially nothing.

Friendlies would imply more than one. Saying "any future friendly" implies one.

Basically it’s the best we could get in what was a shiet situation

Yeah. The mistake was not selling last summer or the summer before that. £17m in the circumstances is a good deal.

posted on 28/1/20

Could have taken £40m in the summer, and re-invested in the squad.

Now we need to get a replacement over half way through the season and hopes he hits the ground running.

Pretty sure GLC was bought as to be his direct replacement

I heard Levy told Poch to leave Eriksen out of the squad and to force him to sign the deal that was offered.

Poch played him regardless and was absolutely sheet.

Not really. He looked like he's going to partner a DM in midfield.

Probably means Dele will occupy the #10 role behind Kane, with Son/Lamela Bergwijn/Lucas either side.

Eriksen played centrally when Dele was taken off.

Great Spurs player and I wish him the best. No problems from me about him wanting out, I just wanted it done as quickly as possible so we could move on. With GLC signed up as well it's been a good day for Spurs.
