Mata could have earned us a replay. We're a bunch of headless chickens.

What replay?
It would have gone to pens
It's not like Mata was likely to score, but at least he's shown in the past he's capable of scoring from that position.
The fck has Fred done?
Surely the players discuss before the game who our best free kick takers are? No one would've dared taken a free kick of Becks for example.

Giggs did. Quite often.
It's nonsensical decisions like these that makes me question who's actually in charge of this club.

It's Glazer(s) and Ed Woodward.
Next question.

Yeah, when it was suited for a leftie. Thought that was common sense
With Giggs he only took the free kicks from side that suited the left foot
Becks always took the ones with the right foot
Benched
You still got the hots for Pereira or have you now concluded like the rest of us that he isn’t any good.

Absolute poverty decision allowing Fred to take that free kick.
Yeah, that was a huge chance, Mata’s the senior player though, he has to be telling Fred and Pereira to do one. Even as he walked away, I thought it looked perfect for a right-footer (so, Pereira). Bravo left a huge gap to the kick-takers right, the wall seemed a bit to far left, there was a nice gap between the wall and the next player to whip it around, how Fred (who played well) ended up with it when he has no form when it comes to scoring, at all, never mind free-kicks.

who allowed it?
Looked like Mata and Andreas Pereira to me. They both probably didn't fancy it.

Was willing to give him his chance but no ultimately he isn't good enough for what we aspire to be.
As I've said before though Lingard, Mata, Matic, Pereira out in that order. Unless we go mental with the cheque book he'll be here until at least 2021.
As 5th/6th choice I think he is fine. Only £30k per week too. Issue is he is almost a mainstay in this side
Pereira is midtable quality at best. He'd make a decent squad player who fights for a place on the bench every week. Definitley not someone who starts regularly for us
It's what happens when you don't have a leader on the pitch. A proper captain steps in and gives it to Mata.
One can only hope Bruno helps in this regard...

Surely Maguire has to step in there? You could almost hear every United fan shout “not Fred!!!” When he places the ball.

Mata is Utd's most senior outfield player. He should have been demanding it.
Im sure it was a training ground drilled decision. Maybe to close or too central etc. for the other two?
