That UK=19 EU states sounds like the 350m to the EU angle. Sensationalised stuff that actually means nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep.

Drivel.

EU lose the equivalent of 19 eu states with UK leaving....

They will work with us to help themselves and we will go the same way as money talks in deals.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
EU GDP circa 19 trillion
UK GDP circa 2 trillion

----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you like them apples!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trade volumes (whilst the media are fond of quoting them) don’t tell the full picture.

Fisheries for example make up a very small percentage of UK GDP but circa 80% of their exports go to the EU.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know.

It is reality.

There are many small and poor eu states.

It's not spin.

Don't take it as an insult.

Pretty much.

Think it was Brexit Central who posted it on Twitter and were roundly criticised for it.

The EU27 are a bloc and negotiate as a bloc.

That's one reason of many.

One of the biggest cons was to convince people that the reason they're poor is because of immigration.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Two thirds of Nissan workers in Sunderland voted leave putting their jobs at risk (which they were told would happen if the UK voted leave) they weren't conned they just didn't care.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Remain was sold as money and economics....leave did a silly bus ad too, but for leavers it was not solely based on cash.

If you don't get that you don't understand brexit and British people.

From punk to being an independent island nation to standing up to Hitler and ussr etc.

It's a mindset too...not about wonga
----------------------------------------------------------------------
From standing up to Hitler to embracing fascism in our own country.

Have you no shame?

Our war dead will be spinning in their graves today.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Our war dead were killed by Germans and Italians the spinning would have been done in 73.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually you'll find that the majority of the WWII generation were pro EU because they understood the need to have a Europe that works together without isolationism.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Brilliant.

When my Scottish great grandfather was in his tank in the north African desert fighting Rommel he was thinking to himself I can't wait to get the EU up and running.

What he would of been devastated by would be the break up of the UK.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did he tell you this ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes he felt his story should be told, he survived the war by getting a radio operator job which operated just behind the front rather than being in the tank at the sharp end.

Just imagine the pressure when he was interviewed for RO job, he was basically taking part in an audition that would hugely increase his survival chances.

Anyone with a brain should know that's not how it works. Why would any intelligent fella fall for this kind of hogwash? No wonder Brexit won.

You just need to look at the leverage Ireland was able to utilise against the UK in the WA. The EU supported their position unconditionally, forcing major concessions from the UKgov.

The UK will have 350m for the NHS per week by leaving the EU

The UK is the equivalent of 19 EU states.

These statement will dupe the simpletons but critical thinking will reveal the emtpyness behind.

The EU bit.
My uncle fought in NA. Another Uncle was badly injured at Monte Cassino which was pretty brutal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
God yeah he lost far too many close friends to the Germans and Italians to get passed it.

He didn't hate them as like him they were acting under orders but he certainly didn't want to be in a union with them.

Someone In work just asked me what Brexit looks like.

This question has always annoyed me. Brexit isn't a destination. It's a state of being. A direction of travel.

I'm sure there are those whose lives will be worse off following Brexit but then there will be those who benefit from the tax decisions that can now be changed to accommodate British business and different forms of regulation.

The simple argument is that a nation of people should hold the power to remove the decision makers. A nation should control it's own events. Its immigration policy, it's foreign policy.

Whilst we have an element of this, there's no doubt that the trajectory of democratic control is going one way and it's away from the people.

When the UK started being outvoted in the EU council for things that would benefit our own economy, I was convinced that the system was broken. Why should something that works for the Maltese and the Hungarians be implemented to the detriment of the UK ? We're different nations with different ideologies and different economies. That's not a sustainable model.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's objectively true that Britain won't be paying money into the EU as a membership fee.

Whether that goes toward the NHS is anyone's guess. It was certainly never promised. Unless you think campaigns can do that.
