If Aurier can cut out the mad rushes of blood to his head he may become a decent right back for us. At the moment though he simply can’t be trusted not to do anything complete daft.

Aurier hasmistakes in him but he made some important blocks/tackles yesterday. In fact I think he has the most tackles this season of all our defenders.

Sanchez who is also prone to sloppy ness also made some crucial blocks and tackles yesterday.

Both are a bit raw but the stick they get is a bit unfair sometimes. Vertonghen has been much poorer consistently this season but doesn’t get as much stick, maybe because he’s performed in the past.

Tanganga has been superb all things considered. He’s been thrown in all over the back 4 and hasn’t looked out of place.

Good summing up Full Back. You are pretty well spot on with your assessments. Also I am not in the business of calling any of our players out, whether they be midfielders, forwards or defenders after beating Man City 2-0.

You going on Weds Sandy?

I reckon yesterday will stick a few thousand on the gate and the atmosphere will be electric.

Do you think Southampton will go strong? 7 points off the drop at this stage is good for them but a couple of defeats and they could be back in the relegation mix.

To his credit he has brought the side back to 5th, just four points off the top four, that despite having a fixture list that included Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

You do of course fail to mention that we lost 3 of those 4 games and got away with murder in the 4th game.

I think our rise up the table has got as much to do with everybody else throwing away points as it has to do with us picking any up.

We were unlucky not get something out of the Liverpool game, like everybody else against them this season when great chances presented themselves we missed them.

I think this is a good summing up of Jose Mourinho made by a veteren poster on here a few years ago. Great poster I agree with all of it

"I hate the way the media fawn over him like a puppy dog. Mourinho is everything that is wrong with football, arrogant attention seeking keeeent of the highest order. He got taken down a peg or two at Madrid, and you would have thought he would have learnt to keep his gob shut, but after a couple of months back in the UK, he is at it again, gobbing off big-time, and making snide remarks about other clubs. He certainly knows how to stir the shiettte. Horrible man at a horrible club. Fortunately it will all end in tears like last time, absolutely 100 per cent certainty."

SB
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jose was was pretty complementary of City in his post match interview yesterday. I agree that while his attitude and behaviour got worse and worse from his time at RM through to United, we have not seen that at Spurs yet. Time will tell

Yes mate I will be there. Really looking forward to the game. I am in South Lower. Yesterday I was up in top deck with all the unruly mob.

Spurs have picked up more points than any other club bar Liverpool and City since Jose has been at Spurs. Give him some credit FFS.

Nice one.

I can't make Weds but I'm going to the Villa game on the 16th, can't wait I do love a trip to Villa Park.

I have not been particularly critical of Jose altho I am not his biggest fan and I will give him credit when I think its deserved.

Citys strikers missing chance after chance in my opinion does not warrant praise for our manager unless somehow he controls that aspect of the game.

I haven't been to Villa Park for years. In fact not been to an away game for years. I have no chance of getting away tickets not being a season ticket holder.

City chances

Aguero hitting the post
Penalty miss
Aguero missing near post
Mess up between Lloris and Tanganga
De Bruyne forcing Hugo into a save
A lucky deflection that hit the bar.

Other than that cannot remember any other clear cut chances. So from open play really only three chances, plus a penalty, plus a mix up, plus a deflection.

Hardly lots of chances.

I know, it is as if there are hundreds of better players out there. Some of our supporters just like moaning full stop. How any supporter could possibly even think about moaning after beating City 2-0, when most beforehand were thinking it would be a drubbing.

No one is moaning about the result Sandy. It’s the defensive frailties that concern some people.

Such a ridiculous response

I suppose you thought Sanchez’s pass to the City player was good defending. Or perhaps Aurier’s daft challenge on Aguero.

Anyway, didn’t you say you wouldn’t mind seeing City beat Spurs 4-0 the other week ?
