It's not what I think. It's the reason for the law. The law is to protect the vulnerable. Those under 16 are seen as vulnerable, but like any arbitrary age it should be considered situationally.

In my opinion the British age of 10 for criminal responsibility is to low. That's simply my opinion, I think it should be dependent on an assessment of the child.

Age laws are a line that needs to be drawn, but there should always be able to be questioned.

If he was 22 my reaction would be "that is just wrong" at 18 however I can't see a problem, unless she is being coerced by him in some way.

Tbf in some cases I think 16 is too young for to be the age of consent in some cases. Sorry but in my opinion am old man being with a 16 or 17 year old is disgusting in my opinion. There should be a maximum age difference of 2 years up until the age of 18 then once you're 18 that should be the real age of consent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Absolute nonsense. Juts because YOU view something as disgusting doesn't mean it is.

Would you let your 15 year old date an 18 year old?

When you were at school how many boys in the upper 6th were dating girls in the 5th form? Because that is what we are talking about.

What I mean by this is, yes I agree with the age of consent. But I don't agree fully with capping it based on the age of the other. I'd also argue that, above age of consent, people are different. For example, some 18 year old work and are exposed to the adult world. They are mature and ready for real life. Others still go to school and are not so mature.

Not sure how you put that in to law. Guess you can't.

Again, our society tells us that it's not acceptable and so the answer is no.

You have to be careful judging the guy based on your society's views when his society has a very different view.

As the law is the he'd be breaking it if he had intercour$e with her in the UK. That's all I think about this.

I do recall a lot of girls the same age as me in school in 5th form going out with boys who were turning up picking them up in their cars.

Oh year there were plenty of lads from the comp next door and older lads sat there in their nova one pops.

It's just not for me because I'm not a nonce. People want o go by the letter of the law then fair enough, but that's my opinion on it.

I think I should have a say about what a couple of teenagers from Brazil get up to. Could we not come to some sort of arrangement where they get to see eachother but only when I say so and are only allowed to do activities from a list that I provide them?
