PL Streaming Service

They'd have their own app? At a 6.99 monthly fee, they'd generate around 10 billion worth of revenues if we take 1.5 billion as the worldwide audience. Actual audience is 4.8 billion but I went for a very conservative estimate of the annual paying subscribers. Compared to bringing in about 5 billion currently by selling the rights to broadcasters. Unless I'm missing something, it's a no brainer for the PL.

Surely has to be something they consider if the maths is right there. To be honest is happily pay treble the amount you suggested monthly if it meant i could bin sky bt amazon. As you say really dont see how the premier league lose with something like this.

Yeah it is wrong. 6.99 is a monthly fee. To make it easier. Say the PL charge £5 a month. £60 a year. That is a very cheap subscription and affordable for most. They'd only need around 166 million subscribers a year worldwide to hit £10 billion in revenues.

Liverpool would not be where they are today without us united fans paying our sky and bt prescriptions. 30 years of us funding the EPL and other teams signings through our fans around the world has finally delivered something for Liverpool. You're welcome. But time to start giving us some credit or giving us something back?

Surely your doctor can write that prescription for free?

It's true though. Fans like me who pay our tv prescriptions are far more valuable than those who go to matches (and they probably don't even pay their sky prescriptions). For every one fan paying about £30 to go to a match, you have thousands around the world contributing thousands of pounds through tv prescriptions. Match going fans are irrelevant and are rightly an after thought. The next logical step would be to close the stadium to match going fans so they finally cough up their monthly prescription and contribute more to the EPL.

Sky will pay a few people off to make sure this doesn’t happen

Would happily sign up for this, even if it was just my team's games. Can't see it happening unfortunately.

I have SKY BT Netflix & Amazon Prime...& frankly its getting messy

I'd happily subscribe to a one channel fits all thing from the Premier League...assuming it's in full HD minimum...UHD ideally

I'd certainly subscribe to just my club's games if it were available too

guys....

are you nuts.

you REALLY think the premier league would settle for 6.99 per month each?

If you were charged £5 PER MATCH you'd be very lucky IMO.

Why would the prem decide the 6.99 is enough for a full month when you can charge the same per match and make even more.

I just said i'd subscribe....

I currently pay £68 for Sky Q HD, & about £14 for BT a month, so it'd have to be competetive

I get Netflix & Amazon free - unsure what the cost would be for these if they ever had footy (Amazon had some in December including all of boxing day)

Calm down laaa. it was an estimate based on other subscription models that are currently operating so don't get your knickers in a twist. They're not consulting us fans on JA606 about how much they should price this at.

To get a high subscription base though, they probably will price it at a rate that will appeal to the mass market and not just set it at £60 a month just because Sky charge that.

Yes. Consider as well that by cutting out the middle man the League have control of selling the advertising too, which can offset the subscription

When DAZN had the rights to the Prem games over here, they were charging €9.99 a month, but that included other sports like NBA, MLB, UFC etc.
Now it's annoying, as Sky have the PL back, but the cup games and CL are still on DAZN.

And since DAZN lost the PL games they put the price up to €12.99

The price for netflix is set based on them having a largish audience and lots and lots of content that comes at a reaosnbale price

What you are arguing is a 10billion cost of content and having to have 10x netflix subscribers to pay for it.

Yes it is. And for all the millions of other fans all over the country who can’t get tickets for Anfield. Meanwhile Everton can keep selling half season tickets
