That was a prime example of everything wrong with Champions League refs

Hats off to Atletico, they are a quality team and we handed them a gift at the start to let them play their game.

It would be silly to think it will be that much easier at Anfield, They will relish another chance to sit back and nick an away goal.

We will have to be top notch in the second leg.

Think we will win at Anfield. They may defend very well again but you need luck as well to play that way over two legs.

What about the Morata/Allison save from about 6 yards in the first half, or the Morata slip that was an easy finish in the second?

Ref was a definite homer, however Salah was poor tonight.

You don't get many chances away at Atletico, and he had two great chances. Keeper kicks it straight to him and he couldn't trap the ball. Gomez puts it right onto his head and he cant even nod it on target, better still to the greater part of the goal that's open.

0 shots on target from us, 0.

Facking frustrating watch and all the players who think they are decent on the ball need to take a long hard look at themselves and wonder wtf they were doing.

Atleti did what Atleti do. Get their noses in front and defend for their lives.

Wijnaldum did nothing all game just passed it off. As soon as Atleti's game plan was close midway through first half, he shouldve been told to drive forward, and if he couldn't, Ox would come on who would.

Poor show all round except for Atleticos defending which was pretty exemplary.

Would normally expect you to prevail in the second leg but Atletico are one awkward side to play.

No surprises from atleti there for me. Played exactly how i expected them to and its effective. Might not be pretty but it got the job done. Thought the ref lost the plot a bit in the 2nd half, seemed to get caught up in the atmosphere as the game progressed but thats mo real excuse.

We were nowhere near good enough going forward. They got the break with the goal but thats the way it goes sometimes.

We have an almighty task on our hands turning this one round. I felt more confident turning barca round last season than i do about this one

most of my dads family are atleti fans

only a few of us on that side of my family support real...me being one

Atletico should have players back from injury by the second leg and be closer to full strength. Will be a fascinating game.

Oh and our set piece setups were pure crap.

Trent was awful whole game. Did nothing all game other than strike the first man.
