Apparently you were very close to bringing in coutinho for a record fee over the summer before Barca added another payment and Levy walked.

Spurs signings have been bloody awful.... Sessegnon out of his depth, Ndombele a total waste of space, STILL unfit !!!, GLC a fitter version of Lamela, Gedson (wrong Fernandes), Clarke on loan at QPR after he couldn't get a game at Leeds & Bergwijn just looks a carbon copy of Moura
We're awful now. Years of terrible business in the transfer market has put us on the verge of mediocrity.
Years of hard work thrown out the window. Simply because Levy is tight caaant.
good signings poor management
Ndombele is on a knife edge at the moment. If he can get himself fit he's a potential world beater. If he can't he's pretty much a waste of space. Not much in between.
I firmly believe the likes of Lo Celso, Gedson and Bergwijn would do a lot better under a manager who told his midfielders to pass and dribble through transitions rather than lumping it with no target man.
On topic, though, yeah. If you tot up all the mediocre £10-20m players, you'll end up with an astronomical amount effectively pıssed up the wall. The same amount could've been spent on fewer, better players.
I’m happy with every single player we’ve signed over the last two windows.
We've made some great signings recently. Ndombele and Lo Celso are top class. Bergwijn looks really promising.
Personally, haven't seen much in Sessengon but given his age you would expect him to come good. Gedson looks tidy too.
Time for the manager to utilise them properly.

quality of the signings is reflected in the teams performances & results..... Neither has been good enough...... Fancy names & reputations overseas looks great on paper but as Sheff United & Wolves are proving...... Its about more than that.
I think GLC is good player, Gedson & Sess look totally lightweight, Bergwijn just looks like a another Moura, Sonny, Njie, Nkoudou. Theres something not right about Ndombele.... I suspect there's a mentality issue there... been coasting through 90% of League 1 games and is now being found for not being anything like as good as everyone thought now there's some stiff competition. No point commenting on Clarke
Crazy thing is, Ndombele, Lo Celso and Gedson are all brilliant at beating the press and dribbling through the lines. They were EXACTLY what Pochettino needed to revitalise the team. And he didn't get to use any of them properly due to injuries before he got the boot, and instead we have Mourinho who doesn't set up to use their skillsets at all.

Ndombele is fat and incapable of playing 90 mins..l If thats your idea of top class I wonder how much football u have watched
“ Bergwijn just looks like a another Moura, Sonny, Njie, Nkoudou”
Imagine being stupid enough to put Son in the same category as Njie and Nkoudou

Yeah, definitely an odd take.
Frankly even if you don't rate him as a top player, Lucas is still clearly a class above N'Koudou and N'Jie

Coutinho could never play 90 minutes at first. In fact it took him about 18 months to get up to speed in that regard. Ndombele has an amazing skill set end of.
You've signed a series of young players, all bar one to a new league, all speaking different languages.
Maybe a little more patience required,
We chose Lo Celso over Bruno.
Business end of the season, still in two cup competitions and still mathematically capable of top 4.
But with no recognised striker.
Just too damn Spursy for me. Absurd.
Lo Celso is a plus point.
Lucas needs to find his shooting boots and the real Dele Alli either needs to stand up or f*ck off for good.

Agreed except for Jack Clarke. Not sure where he fits in next season but at least he getting more minutes at QPR at the moment.
Time will tell how good the signings go on to be, they've all come in from foreign leagues and this is their first season so we aren't going to see the best of them yet. What I have seen I've liked for the most part apart from Ndombele's fitness issues.
The problem has been not signing enough in the right areas more than the quality of signing.
