Kicking was poor from the get go, although he is left footed unlike Kiko so should probably get the benefit of the doubt. Didn't have a save to make although he claimed crosses well. Cant judge him on this performance really.

Did what he had to. No flapping. Distribution much better v Arsenal but he did well over all.

Apart from a few bad passes, did well.

But I do get the feeling, he’s ropey.

Disagree LIW.. I was totally assure when he came for crosses.. didn’t feel the need to tense up like when Kiko plays.

He was better with his feet vs arsenal though. Decent game in total

No longer a teenager for the Huddersfield match.

He was very good.

If he hasn't of played the game against Arsenal and today was his first game then you wouldn't be jizzing all over him and hoping Kiko was dropped

Had nothing to do
Kicking was poor

Will be bigger tests ahead for him

Side... I get that but I was genuinely relaxed when the ball was near him.. I don’t always feel that way about Kiko.. I like Kiko don’t get me wrong, wonderful footballer

.... and, if I’m totally honest.. I like the fact that Kiko played for Madrid 😂.. he’s got a Madrid type name too.. 😂

Took a couple of high balls and CAUGHT them under a challenge. The exact sort Kiko punches at eg Cardiff.
Positioning was good. Could see him also communicating with the defence. Other than 2 poor kicks he did everything he had to do well.

And yeah LIW.. championship manager 👍

Kebab.. spot on

Nope Spanish it’s just a gut feeling.

Was poor for the arsenal goal, just waiting to see if he can stop goals, which Kiko sadly hasn’t for two months.

That the test of any keeper

Poor for the Arsenal goal - that's bollox LIW!

Got two hands on it.

Should have kept it out

His first full game, did well overall. Commanded his box with some good ball handling and distribution, but didn't have a save to make. Clean sheet and a big win is a great way to make your full debut.

Agree about arsenal goal to be fair LIW.

A lot is down to feelings at the moment so I’m not sure anyone can ‘win’ any form of debate yet..

My feelings are good.. but it still could be a case of better the devil you know.

Reports last week is that if he plays 10 games, a clause in his contract says we have to sign him for 5 million. He played against Arsenal, and with Kiko out, that will make 9 appearances with 3 left. Kinda got an Antenucci feel about it. Does Kiko come in for final 3 games, or do we keep Meslier in thus have to buy him.

I like the look of Meslier in all honesty, but needs an acid test and he'll get one against someone.

i like him, seems assured. he had nothing to do so can't really make an assessment. but he just doesn't look like a mistake about to happen.

Spanish

It’s nothing more than a hunch. He’s done very little wrong.

Maybe it’s me being negative, just get that feeling about him.

Luckily for our keepers, they don’t get worked much

4-0

Clean sheet

Not much more to say really.

Overall feeling; he had nothing to do.

Kicking was poor, but he’s a kid playing for a massive club.

Willing to give the benefit of the doubt, let’s see if he steps up.

LIW .. end of therapy he’s a 19 year old keeper, well within your rights to be questionable... I just get from his body language there its all under control.. like when the ball is looping about he’s just going to pluck it out the air..

The day not therapy 😂

His distribution which was brilliant against arsenal was pretty ropey today. He looked more assured with balls into the box. But it's just one game. If one thing worries me about our defence it is set pieces/throw ins into the box. Casilla was very erratic on this gor me. It's one game and he didnt have loads to do but I felt like he wasnt hemmed in the way casilla gets.

I also agree liw that in open play our keepers dont have much to cope with. Cardiff away with Harris as manager and vaulks with his long throws I'm hoping this lad is less of a bomb scare in the air.
