Every year someone wins the CL, it is down to luck as much as anything.
The golden trophy is down to so much more, and proof of the greatest team in the PL era.

Easily the golden PL trophy. PL trophy alone is a better trophy than CL. CL is about riding your luck whilst with the PL you get the luck you deserve as Liverpool are getting this year
Nicol said: “The Champions League is a cup competition and any team can win a cup competition. Sunderland won a cup competition years ago, Wimbledon beat us in an FA Cup final, but to go the whole season undefeated at this level is astronomical.
“There’s a reason why only two teams have ever done it, if you count Preston North End in the 1800s, and do you think for one second that any of these Arsenal players are going to be forgotten in 100 years? Everybody is going to know they went unbeaten, it’s been done once in the modern era. That’s how difficult it is.
“We’ve done the treble and we’ve won the Champions League six times, but there’s one thing Liverpool have never done and that’s go the whole season undefeated. I would 100% swap the Champions League this year for being invincible.”
I think a European Cup winner knows what he is talking about.

And Parlour doesn't?
It's all about opinions.
I find it baffling that a player at the end of his career would swap a CL medal with the ability to say 'I was part of a team that went undefeated'.
But each to their own.
However, on this forum we're unlikely to get any true opinion and it's all very club biased.
I would just add, just because going a season undefeated is more rare and arguably more difficult, doesn't necessarily mean that players would prefer it.

" I would 100% swap the Champions League this year for being invincible.”
All about context/opinion.
The key bit of that statement being "this year", the statement referring to the 19/20 season as a fan having witnessed his team win the Champions league the prior year.
A fairer question to ask Nicol is would he swap his European cup medal for one of those 4 first division titles he won turning into an undefeated season. I almost guarantee you will get a different answer.

So?
Doesn't remotely change my point, does it.
The official Arsenal website does not even recognise this Golden trophy. Must be a AFTV phenomenon.
The context is in the rest of his comment, where he dismisses the EC/CL as something anyone can win, while describing the invincible season as "astronomical"

And to a degree, he's right.
But it's also seen by many as the pinnacle of a player's club career - the most prestigious trophy they can win at club level.
It's perfectly understandable why a player may prefer that than being part of an undefeated team, even if it is arguably easier to achieve.
you can be undefeated and not win the league
Arsenal fans clinging to any sort of relevance in today’s game.
Who remembers when rival fans used to rib us for going on about history.
