I will be signing in at some point but I am experiencing problems with my lap-top. I think the battery needs replacing as it keeps switching itself off. It's most annoying when you are in the middle of something. Anyone got any other ideas as to what the problem could be?

Hi Pasty, My son stripped it down last night and hovered it. There wasn't much dust on the inside but that hasn't made any difference. The fan is blowing out but it is overheating. Any ideas?

did he take the fan out you use clean compressed air to clean a laptop not a hoover the blockage is normally on the fins of the heat-sink (take fan out to check) if that is clear both sides it sounds like your graphics chip is lifting and needs re balling (cheaper to buy a new machine)

Pasty, he did use a hoover. He did hoover the fins on the fan perhaps it needs the fan removing and cleaning properly. If it doesn't work I will need to buy a new one.
