We really need to make a decision on this GK situation soon.

If the eventual plan is to have Henderson as our number 1, we should probably fast track that - it would be wise to do it whilst Romero is still at the club as a reliable deputy should things go wrong. It means finding a buyer for De Gea though, which I dont think will be easy given his form the last year or so.

If we're planning to stand by De Gea for the next few years, I don't know how long know how long Henderson will wait around for. His current deal ends in 2022. There are some big clubs in Europe said to be interested - if they come in with a good offer we may be forced to sell.

By all accounts Henderson would be willing to go on loan for another season.

Was at the Lane yesterday and he never had a thing to do until that scramble in the second half, was at the other end of the ground but shocked he managed to make that double save.

He is a cracking keeper, will be Uniteds No.1 next season I feel and pushing Pickford for England after the Euros. Just don’t think Southgate will swap Pickford out at this late stage

Yeah, but how about another 2? Or 3? The longer we hold on to De Gea, the closer he gets to running down his contract.

Apparently, the club is expecting Sergio to move on in the summer.

Henderson is too good to come back as a number 2 and I doubt he wants to

We might have to sell him if DDG keeps his place as our number 1 sadly. There’s only so many loans the guy will end up going on. Maybe one more at most.

There’s a scenario that sees us starting next season with two new keepers in Hendo and a new backup.

Grant I expect to move on if he doesn’t give us one more season as number three, Pereira has hardly shone at Hearts by recent accounts, O’Hara hasn’t done himself any favours this week and is still pretty green, and you don’t promote someone from the U23s as your number two with a young number one.

If Romero goes we’ll be shopping even if we switch out Hendo for De Gea.

Courtois went on loan at Athletico for a few years. Except he went out on 2 year stints, not 1 year. Maybe we need to do that. Renew his contract then send him out on a 2 year contract to sheffield. Gives the player and loan club more certainty.

It’s a bit different though. One is Atletico Madrid and the other is Sheffield United

No disrespect to them - especially as they’re above us in the table - but he’s playing at a superb level and might look to feel wanted by a big club rather than wait for a guy in DDG to leave who may not be going anywhere for a while

We're probably stuck with de Gea now, nobody is paying those wages

And if they're relegated?

I’d go as far as saying that if the club do see Henderson as future number one, this summer is the time to do it considering:

- The player’s confidence
- His confidence in the club
- The player’s wage demands
- The stage in the rebuild cycle we’re at
- DDG’s diminishing resale value
- DDG’s wages

Would all make sense if the footballing decision is there to be made.

Might even persuade Romero to stay on for an extra season.

People are forgetting that a goalkeeper has. Much long career ahead of him. Henderson can spend the. Next three or four years on loan and still be our number one in his prime. No reason why we can’t play the loan system whilst simultaneously offering him bumper new contracts.

All depends whether he’s happy with that.

Apparently - yes, it could be media bullsheet - Chelsea are sniffing around. He could easily say to the club that he’d rather be playing CL/EL football for a top side next season than waiting around for us for the next three years with no guarantees.

Well if he does make that ultimatum the. We have to concede poor timing and let him go, because De Gea is still the better GK.

DDG is the better keeper so I'm not worried.
