I think the funniest thing is this: the saddo's club could easily be in bottom 3 by the end of this week and if the "season is postponed" then one strong possibility is whoever is in bottom 3 ends up relegated.
Equally there could be a play off where the bottom 4 to 6 teams go into it and all all at huge risk.
3 from 6 to go down in a play off would be hilarious.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't get this.
Cant finish the season (9 games) but can play a relegation tournament...
Just finish the facking season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was talk of a playoff to decide the CL places and league winners. Imagine being 25 points clear then having to play City in a one off fake to decide the league. Makes sense

Just saying what the italians are.
Italy are really only two weeks ahead of the rest of europe. However it must be said italy's approach (head in sand) means they really have no containment phase.
The worst case in england is half the clubs get infected by european teams licking and kissing them.
In theory The uk have had a containment phase (of sorts) that the country may not end up saying its in total quarantine. However it's likely that at some point the entire country will move from containment to delay and at that point games will be behind closed doors.
For me the reality is that we are looking at the prem continuing until the international break. At this point players will be expected to travel all over the place for no good reason (i noted that the play offs for euros are going to be behind closed doors)
All bets are off after the internationals imo
The european fixtures where wolves are being forced to play a club that is potentially corona carrier shows that right now UEFA and FIFA are trying to ignore the problem and get things done and dusted.
The prem season is 75% over right now. It will be 81% over by the end of the palace game.
In short you could halt the season at that point and dish out the goodies.
exmaple:
LFC are clearly champions. might only be 2 points from it, might be that already.
City are 2nd but not massive clear of leciester.
Leicester are 5 clear of Chelsea right now and 8 ahead of utd
there's a case for Leicester v city for 2nd place.
Then you'd have to have some for of play off semi finals etc to decide who plays off against Chelsea for 4th. (that'd be interesting)
Then at the bootm you have to sort the relegation out.
Every league position in prize money however is worth millions so there would need to be some agreement in how that gets dished out too.
the funny thing is every way you cut it form here:
a) spurs will not be in the LC play off for 4th as they'd get hammered in thier current condition.
b) West ham would be likely relegated in a play off game.
c) cheslea could miss out of CL.
d) the europea and fa cup could be cancelled so utd woudl win nothing.
Every wum is highly likely to be far more affected than us as we will have the league in the bag before it gets cancelled!

Possibly, if any of the Arsenal players come back as positive. Best to wait for the results first though, so as not to do unnecessary testing.
Why aren't the other teams' who came into contact with Arsenal players afterwards not postponing their games?
Turns out the Olympiakos team have been tested and come back as negative, so the Wolves game tomorrow goes ahead behind closed doors.

Probably because they don't play until the weekend and the results from the testing of Arsenal players will be known before then. If an Arsenal player tests positive, I imagine their games will be postponed whilst they are tested. If they are negative the weekend's fixture will go ahead as scheduled.
The sensible approach really. I'm guessing the Liverpool fans think this is some sort of conspiracy against them.
Also, all the Olympiakos players have tested negative...

They have. The chairman met the Arsenal players too though, so they need to be checked separately.
They weren't in the sack with the owner though. Strict policy on employer/employee relations.

Which would be relevant if it was a sexually transmitted virus. as it isn't, it is a completely moot point.
