What makes you think there's a right choice?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The safe choice is always the right choice in a health crisis
I saw a thing on TV last week that said use hand sanitiser as well as washing your hands, not instead of.
That’s quite responsible, I thought.
Flicked to the next segment, still on the Coronavirus, where they encouraged people not to stop using public transport!!!!
Clearly the brainwashing bigwigs are thinking of their profits.
Whoever is running the country, or world, it certainly isn’t Boris Johnson and Donald Trump.
They’re just hate-figures, very well paid hate-figures, for you to vent at.
All the while, the real driving force behind this brainwashing, industry behemoth, sit in their ivory towers counting the profits.
Research Bilderberg group. They denied being a thing for years. Then when irrevocably proven to be holding clandestine meetings, they come out and admit; but refuse to discuss the contents of the meetings!
They can’t be taken to task because they are the takers and the taskers!!
Fckin joke.
Anyway, better go, I’ve got a job to get back to.
Over 95% can get over it and it's probably more like 98% because the figures are not accurate. So imagine being in a recession for years to come because of a virus we all got over in a few weeks, or most of us never got.
Wash hands, don't cough in peoples faces and keep the vulnerable safe.
My point is, whatever you believe to be the "safe choice", how do you know that even is the safe choice? Even if you lock everything down, eventually you have to open everything up again, and then it'll come back in. Unless you want to lock the whole country down until the middle of next year, when we /might/ have a vaccine if all goes well, and we have who knows what social damage from it all.
Seems to me that the government are listening to the best experts they can find, i.e. they're following the advice of the scientists. I don't know what else they're supposed to be doing.
"Why are so many decision makers in this country"
I didn't think you were in this country?
Are all you lads WFH now?
Brexit means Brexit, Robb. We voted to leave so now you have to leave.
Kidding aside, we voted this lot in so that says much worse about the electorate.

Closing my work.
That Brexit dividend has come through in the budget.
Ruled by idiots ........

Spent much of my life trying to avoid becoming misanthropic. Becoming an increasingly exercise futile to even try.
To coin some cliches, humans are a virus - and a badly evolved one. Because most viruses are at least able to adapt/evolve, whereas humans won't exist as a species for less than 1% of 1% of the time it took for that classifications of life characterised as poorly adapted (referred to as 'dinosaurs' ) to not exist

Hang on. You're saying that given that only 2% of those infected are likely to die, we shouldn't take measures to prevent the majority of the population being infected?!
Having read accounts by doctors of what it's like in northern Italy at the moment, despite pretty drastic measures, it's pretty complacent to suggest we don't make significant changes to our lives to delay and limit the spread.
The Tories have proven time and time again that they’ll happily make decisions that kill vulnerable people. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

They’re having to choose which ones die due to who is more vulnerable - scary thought. Thousands among people possibly over the next few weeks/months being allowed to die simply because of a lack of beds/doctors/equipment and die pretty horribly

and those same people elected them for another term. We get the politicians that we deserve.
Does anyone else on here have people on their Facebook posting naive things like ‘don’t panic, 6 people have died, but if you look at how many people die from bee stings’ etc..?
People in being selfish shocker.
The fact that people are selfish and impatient is precisely why they're delaying these measures.
Measures that will be along in a few weeks anyway.
The rate of cases in the UK is much slower than the likes of Italy and Iran I believe. Maybe the required precautions are already in place?
A lot of cooperates have staff working from home where possible, people are being advised to self isolate depending on countries recently visited etc
