Lukaku was United's main striker at the time. Ighalo is back up. (A very good back up, mind) Might explain why he hasn't scored in the PL yet. But when he gets more chances in the PL, i won't be surprised if he did score a few by the end of the season.

Ighalo has missed a few big chances and should really have at least 3 PL goals.

Lukaku can't hold up the ball, close control isn't good and for a big lad early beaten for strength and in the air (Blind has him in his pocket). Good at scoring goals in the right set up but then again so were Kevin Phillips and Mario Gomez.

Easily* beaten

Ighalo on that big season at watford made a name fot himself. You can see why as his attributes mean he gets into good positions regularly.

Lukaku would also start hiding when things weren't going well.

I wouldn't necessarily say that he is a better player than Lukaku. He does have some attributes that are better. What I would say is that he is a better fit for what we need. I'd like to see what he can do in the pl against decent teams, but so far he's impressed me.

Still prefer Ighalo given the chance

Did you see how badly Lukaku ended the season? His first touch was awful and even by end of season, he couldn't finish at all. Ighalo has a lot better hold up player, dribbling skills and seems to be able to get more chances due to his clever movement.

Ighalo reminds me of Eto really.

We will see how he does when he faces qaulity pl opposition. For me though he is more valuable for us than Lukaku.

That’s what it’s about , fit. Such an important thing. Look at Pogba, super talented player, bad fit for us. If you get a good player who fits a system, they become very good. Take Salah out of Liverpool’s system and he’s not as good, as proven at chelsea, why? It doesn’t get the best from him.

Lukaku cost £75m. He wasn't worth half of that. For that price he should be world class but he wasn't. If Kevin Phillips was around this era, he'd be talked about as Lukaku is.

Lukaku scored 15 goals last season. When you pay as much as we did, you would expect a lot more. Look at Greenwood, he barely plays and nearly has that.
