this will not work.

it will result is law suits. if I were anyone in bottom 3 i would be facing 100s of millions in losses.

the reality 8s at some point when they decide they will start behind closed doors again.

the reality is that when enough anti viral meds are available. (1 already approved in china) then the reality becomes 80% get a really mild flu and only 1 or 2% need a hospital.

then anti virals become the key treatment.

finally vaccines ready asap.

Games will have to be played even in August/September. Too many implications that go either way.

Plus a perfect opportunity to change the calendar for Qatar 22.

As have Wycombe, who would go up if they win. As have Tranmere who would stay up if they win theirs. Sheffield United and Arsenal could get CL/EL with their game in hand respectively.
Ending the season now and awarding titles, promotion, relegation and European places should simply not be an option.

Of course it isnt, only scousers suggesting that desperately clinching onto winning the PL. Current form suggests that City could still catch them. So they are desperate to call it quits and declare the winner.

No desperation from me. If we are not awarded the PL championship it’s not the end of the world. Peoples lives comes first, nothing else really matters.

Current form suggests no such thing. Even if you limit "current form" to the last 2 games then we've both won one and lost one. So we'd win the league by a huge margin. Strange comment.

Interesting to think that anyone could believe it's not already won. We can draw 6 and lose 3 and win it. We can win 1 and draw 3 and lose 5 and win it. That's shocking relegation form and still win the league. That's almost as many loses as we've had in 4 seasons but in 9 games?! Ye ok

People need to stop turning this into about Liverpool. If it was just about Liverpool then it would be simple.
Liverpool fans need to stop rising to the very obvious WUMs and ignore them.

Calling an end to the season now and relegating those in relegation places and not giving teams in with a chance of promotion a fair shot will have long term affects. Bournemouth will be in a lot of trouble if they go down, and if it is after 38 games then that's their issue. If you relegate them on the basis of them scoring 1 less than Watford with 9 games to go, that is simply not acceptable.

No Premier League club would object to Liverpool being awarded the league if it ends. The only team that could ( mathematically ) catch Liverpool are Man City, who have already conceded the title on a number of occasions.

The problem will be relegation. Expect Villa & West Ham to be very local - Karen Brady has already said that the League should be void.

I forgot fa cup and CL matches count in the league.

And even that form would see us win the league so ...

It’s laughable that people think that the league can just start again in august/September - there would be no integrity to the competition at that point. Players out of contract won’t play and you can’t force them to, this destroying the integrity.

The simple matter is that for the PL season to be null and voided they need 14 clubs to agree to it - come the summer if football cannot be played they are not gonna have much trouble doing that. Other than Liverpool, and Possibly Sheff Utd/Wolves/Man United and Leicester who else is going to complain?

Only pro rata money will be given which will be alot less because the season needs to be completed. Sky/BT and the foreign channels ain't stupid. Prize money will be wiped out too.

Money talks so season will need to be completed

But they will get less money next year if there are only 19 games for each side due to this season needing completing. Money talks as you say, I think though it may be more financially economical to void this season and do a new full season in August

Why will there be less games the following season? Football calendar needs to be changed anyway to take Qatar 22 into consideration.

posted on 14/3/20

Less games is the current suggestion, chairman aren’t going to be happy with that.

The plan for the Qatar World Cup is to have a 6 week mid season break, it’s already been worked out.

The real issue will be what the other big leagues decide. If La Liga and Serie A null and void their seasons then you can bet your life that the Premier league will as well. You can’t get to October with the PL playing this season and La Liga playing a new one - it would wreak havoc on European competition.

The big worry is that this could lead to the European super league break away.

posted on 14/3/20

I also thing there will be a legal issue in regard to fans being sold season tickets, on the basis they were watching competitive matches, when ultimately, they will have been paying a premium price, for basically attending a collection of friendlies.

posted on 14/3/20

So if the season is voided, maybe every fan in the country who has bought a ticket for a game in the Premier league, should be refunded.
See how that floats the likes of Karen Bradys boat.

That won’t be an issue as when the games were played they were competitive at that point. Good luck trying to get compensation on that basis though, if your successful then let me know as I’m also a season ticket holder.
